OMG! The music made me want to jump in the river head first.

Maybe the plane's music system got stuck on that song and the pilot decided
to ditch the plane.

All I'm saying is that pilot had skills! Most people think being a pilot is easy and comfy, that is bullshit! I know a pilot in Germany who loves to fly but always says "it's a new stress each time" he flies. I for one would not want that job, even though they make about a million a year.

I'm a pilot myself, i used to fly the MD-11 for City Bird (Belgian Airline, out of business), now i'm doing mostly private jets.

No pilot makes a million a year..... after taxes, insurance,........ you make just a small amount over a normal workmans earnings, the golden times are gone, long gone.

Wow really? I mean I never asked my friend how much he makes because I considered it rude, but I remember a while ago (mid 90's) the wages were in the 200k mark so I figured it has grown since then, what is it at now? That's crazy!

A friend of mine flies for Virgin Atlantic. Last time we discussed it he was on just over £110k. Some of his stuff is performance related.

Should add, that was probably 5-6 years ago.

It's a US Coast Guard video. Looks like it is from the west side of the Lincoln Tunnel.

The strange thing is they pulled the video before most of the replies were posted here.

On a monthly base i have about 4500 euro, normal monthly earnings uphere is about 2000 euro average so it's not that much. For US standards we make only a small amount of what pilots make upthere i think, not sure. In Belgium the airline industry has gone down alot the last 10 years, it's just starting to pick up again now since last year, so things should improve. We had a few major airlines going out of business the last years and alot of low-cost companies starting to fly on Brussels, Charleroi and Oostend.

I've just watched footage of it landing, taken from the East side. It really looked like a smooth landing. Still can't believe they all walked away from it.

I am guessing "USCG LNT" refers to... US Coast Guard, Lieutenant?
