Anyone ever donated a car to charity? Advice welcome - GoFuckYourself.com

So we recently got my wife a new car and decided to donate her old car to charity. Ive seen a few advertisements for companies that handle this sort of thing. I'd like to find one that is not only easy to deal with, but guarantees that the bulk of the money goes directly to helping a good cause.

If anyone has any recommendations or a charity they feel strongly about that takes automobiles, please leave the info in this thread. Thanks

I think the charity that collects cars here in the Kidney Fund or something like that.

my advice, sell the car for cash and donate the bucks.

Yup and actually if you put up a sign stating you are selling for charity you might have someone wanting to pay a bit more then what the thing is really worth on the market.

We donated our diesel 1 ton chevy (looks like milk truck) to Big Brothers here in Vancouver. They picked it up 2 days later and Ive seen it a couple times with thier Big Brothers logo on it driving around picking up donations. It went to a good cause.
