first thing is that these guys who hop back and forth between the gay/bi/tranny side of the industry and the straight industry should be absolutely barred from the straight side. it's a ridiculous and irresponsible risk.

10 of these post 2004 cases are male/male.

At what point will people admit that AIM is a fraud?

Chronology: Patient Zero: Tested June 4th

Patient Zero did B/G Scene: June 5th

Patient Zero did 2nd B/G Scene: June 5th

Patient Zero Positive Test Result: June 6th

AIM forced to release a statement: June 10th

The male talent and the producing company should have checked to ensure that she was negative before letting her work, and she should not have worked without negative (clear) test results...stupidity all the way around!!!

Wake the fuck up people!!!

June 11th: AND NOW WE HAVE 16 OTHER "PREVIOUSLY UNDISCLOSED PUBLICLY CASES"?!?

Somebody from AIM better get in here and start doing some explaining since it is starting to appear that they are more interested in protecting their profit center rather than the adult industry.

Because rich older white guys (the escorting part) and married couples (the swinging part) are such high risk HIV carriers?

Story read. That is just...I can't think of a word for it. Astounding is the closest one that comes to mind.

Has AIM commented on the Health Department's release?

I am glad you found a proper word for this... because I have been trying for two days to come up with a word that even comes close. It's just REALLY sad all the way around.

I've always put people before profits...

Even though the industry standard seems to be tests are good for up to 30 days, I try to have my performers tested within days of shooting with me, and not have them shoot with anyone else prior to working with me. I even pay for their tests myself, if necessary, to ensure this.

California: AHF Renews Call for ?Condoms in Porn? Legislation after L.A. Actress Tests HIV+ US? Largest AIDS Group Previously Sought Legislation Requiring Condom Use in Adult Film Industry

By: AIDS Healthcare Foundation
Los Angeles, CA - June 11, 2009

After the Los Angeles Times reported today that an actress in the adult entertainment industry recently tested HIV-positive, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) renewed its call for California legislation that would require the use of condoms by actors performing in porn videos produced by California?s multi-billion dollar adult entertainment industry?a mainstay of the San Fernando Valley economy. AHF had previously tried to sponsor similar legislation but had difficulty finding a legislator willing to author and carry the potentially controversial legislation.

?This most recent HIV infection found in an actress working in California?s booming porn business has prompted AHF to renew our call for state legislation requiring the use of condoms in all adult entertainment productions,? said Michael Weinstein, President of AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the US? largest non-profit HIV/AIDS healthcare provider, which operates the largest community-based alternative HIV testing program in California conducting more than 14,000 free HIV tests annually. ?Working is the operative word here. Why shouldn?t people working in California?s multi-billion dollar adult entertainment industry enjoy the same protections as a construction worker protected by a hard hat and other safety gear? Legislators need to put aside their squeamishness and draft a bill as a worker safety provision of California?s Labor Code akin to how the Labor Code currently requires the use of hard hats and other garments and barriers as safely precautions on certain California work sites and locations.?

The push for ?Condoms in Porn? Background:
In early April 2004 the Southern California adult film industry was sent into a tailspin after the announcement that a Los Angeles based male performer tested positive for HIV. Although the performer contracted HIV while out of the country, he returned to film in Los Angeles and worked without condoms, ensuing in the infection of four other performers. Those infections had been at the forefront of much controversy over whether or not condoms should be legally mandated in the pornographic film industry.

Unlike the gay porn industry, condom use is not currently standard procedure in the straight porn film industry. In 2004, during the previous HIV outbreak in the industry, only two of the approximately 200 adult film production companies in Southern California required their performers to use condoms, and about 17% of adult film actors regularly use condoms, according to industry executives (Kaiser Daily HIV/AIDS Report, 4/22/04).

According to a 2004 op-ed piece in the Los Angeles Times, Larry Flynt, the publisher and figurehead of Flynt Publications (Hustler films), argued that ?market testing?and conventional wisdom?tells us that films that feature actors wearing condoms don?t sell.? AHF argued at the time that that simply did not have to be true, noting that Flynt has been an influential leader in the pornography industry over past decades, and is in a position to change the way that heterosexual pornographic films view condom usage.

AHF will now work to identify a legislator in Sacramento willing to author and carry a ?condoms in porn? bill in this legislative session.

Mutt, if you think the only guys who are banging dudes and trannies are the guys who admit it, you are fooling yourself. I will bet the farm that MANY male porn guys do the same, just nobody knows about it.

The only way, and I'm not saying this as the solution, to stop the spread of anything is to use condoms. There is NO telling what any of them, male or female, straight or gay, do when they are off set.

I know for a fact a lot of producers are not AIM tested yet they poke the models in the bathroom or for behind the scenes footage. Yet this is perfectly acceptable in the business.

It's all a mess, always has been. Having AIM is better than not having AIM I suppose but someone needs to find a better solution. Lives are at risk here, every day.

in regards to this though, not sure why everyone is hating on AIM, they are just a clinic, just abusiness, like thousands of other clinics in LA.

Youll never find a "better" solution, when models have test in hand for a shoot, then fuck someone off camera without testing.

Blaming AIM for not releaseing private records is silly when the risk behavior falls on talent, nothing to do with AIM at all

As ive said before, I know some talent as friends, and have p[artied with them and know at the end of the night, they have test in hand for shoot, then go out at night and fuck unprotected untested guy, then show up for shoot next day, you cant blame AIM for that.

No you can't just blame AIM, I agree with that 100%. Models are often reckless and there is no stopping that. However, where I think AIM is wrong is trying to hide information. If industry people test positive for HIV, then the industry needs to know. It's that simple. If I was working in LA at the moment, I would be livid.

You are also correct when you say there is no solution. There never will be, short of condom use industry wide.

In reality, I don't work in LA and work in Asia and South America, so I honestly don't give a fuck. I'm just wasting time here when I should be working. I've had more models in Thailand test HIV+ in a year than all of LA has in the history of the business. So no big deal really. People should know that if they want to play grown up games, there are grown up consequences, though that brings me to another problem with AIM, and that is they give a false sense of security with their testing. At least I believe they do. I know countless performers in the USA who believe balls to bones that if they are AIM tested, they are totally safe. Foolish to think, and perhaps that is the type of person our industry attracts, but I do feel AIM should be a little more realistic and make it painfully aware there are still serious health risks involved.

man ive had talks with talent who believed that AIDS wasnt even real, and that HIV isnt even sexually transmitted lol and yes, ive seen them on tours.

the shit ive heard talent say in the past would blow the mind off most, except those who have scheduled and tried to work with these models daily. i agree about false sense of security, you just need to hang out with talent who escorts to know the real behind the scenes in LA. I had porn star friends who escorted while in LA, and they were aim tested for shoots

Not related to LA, but I walked in on my buddy getting railed in the ass once by a ladyboy. I had no idea he was into this. I was taking photos in another room of one model and when I was done went to get the other. I opened the door and my boy was getting his ass drilled. It was a sight I just can't seem to undo in my mind.

Indeed there are a lot of folks who regard AIM as a security blanket. While I believe condom use outside the set is mandatory, but condoms in porn may hurt the sales. I DO think education like Disease 101 should be mandatory for new performers and folks getting tested for the first time. It truly is alarming the fallacies I've heard talent say they believe in because they heard these "facts" from more seasoned performers.
