tech problem: usb thumbdrive not appearing in virtualmachine?

I am running TinyXP in a virtual machine via Sun's VirtualBox on my Ubuntu laptop, I need to move some large files from this VM over to my netbook and uploading and redownloading these files is not really a viable option. So I figured moving them over on one of my USB drives would be the optimal strategy here. Wrong! Apparently my thumbdrive is not detected by the XP VM, only by Ubuntu. Any way I can get the VM to recognize the USB drive and not Ubuntu? Ideas anyone?

The drivers are loaded in the Virtualization part. Its most likely it is the virtualization software you are using.

it might also be a usb setting in the virtualization software. I know in both citrix and vmware virtual desktop software you have to give USB rights for the vm to use.

Nailed it a little earlier. VirtuallBox has an option under settings to forward all the USB drivers to the guest machine. Just had to fuck with some settings...
