General tasks or project related? It's been some 7+ years since I was a project manager in the real world but I used MS Project and found it worked pretty well.

Alky, we've been using BasecampHQ for well over 3 years now for managing all our guys and projects and it's worked very well fur us.
It's web based, cheap and very easy to use.
