I would have loved to shoot with a female photographer, when I was modeling yrs ago, a female would have been awesome, not that I have to many issues with professional photographer's, but I want someone who is serious and isn't showing pre-cum marks on his shorts. < true story.

It's all in the way you handle your creative work, making a model feel comfy isn't flirting with her or him. It's not hard to make someone come out on camera, if they feel as if they can trust you.

I used to have this exact debate with with female associates in the past that extremely attractive, who would try to tell me they go to the mall and get more girls to do porn than I could. When they went up against me they lost everytime to say the least.

Females are natuarlly wired to impress and make a statement in front of the opposite sex. So deep inside they are not overwhelmed when another female tells them they look great in this pose or that pose.

So the answer is NO they do not feel more comfortable with females photographers
or unless they are 100% dykes, lesbians whatever you want to call them.

Its all a bullshit game in america... Females only feel uncomfortable in porn whe she is shallow and not attracted to the male photographer, however if she is turned on and attracted to the photographer its all game!

I tend to disagree with you a little here. Great photos and expression are created from the real art of seduction and connection the model and photographer have.

I like to have a female on set, I think it helps the model relax a bit.

My photographers are now almost exclusively female. I have the occasional male photographer. All the girls Ive worked with have commented on how much fun it is to work with all girls on a shoot and how comfy they are. I do work with mostly amateur models and a lot of them its their first time doing a real photoshoot.

Agreed.

My wife always helps out during shoots - assisting with props, wardrobe, lighting, etc. I've found it usually helps put the model at ease especially in a bdsm/fetish setup.

it doesn't matter to me either way, i've shot with both and there is a different vibe depending on the person...not the gender. the idea for the model is to seduce, no matter who. imho.

I feel really comfortable shooting with women photographers. But not THAT much different with males.

I have 3 assistants - 2 of them are girls. Also my hair/makeup artist is a girl

I've had models comment about how comfy they felt on our shoots with so many girls around. Often I'll be in another room and I'll hear the "girls" laughing and cutting up with each other in another room.

I also present myself as very non-threatening. It's important to me that the models are as comfy as they can be. I make a habit of asking them throughout the day if everything is ok? If I can get them something? Their comfort level is important to me and to the success of the shoot!

I shoot in partnership with a man. Some female models pose better for him and some pose better for me. The best ones of course look great no matter which one of us is holding the camera. There are some models who will hit on either him or me and then look way less sexy on camera for having their pass dodged. I think some models really appreciate not having to worry about something inappropriate going on and some who just can't be bothered to do a good job if a certain kind of sexual approval won't be following the shoot. So I think there are a lot more variables than just gender.

Great Shooter, I don't usually shoot the sort of girls who hang at the mall, but I'll be happy to win one for my gender any time you want to have a phone number acquisition contest ;)

I agree as well. When another model is on set or your makeup and hair chick is really cool your model is more relaxed and she is more likely to open up for you.

Most newer models like having a female around. It doesn't have to be the photographer, but they like having another female to talk to. Most make-up artists are female.

I found that a lot of girls were more comfortable when I was shooting them as opposed to when my husband would shoot them.. he had to be more careful, girls will let other girls touch and position them a lot more easily, and they seemed to be less self-conscious.

Matrix content, all their photographers are women I believe, or at least at one point I think

It doesn't matter to me if I am shooting with men or females, as long as I feel comfortable and trust the photographer to be professional make me look my best that's all that matters.

BUT if a photographer tried some "art of seduction" with me on set I would be outta there! I don't show up for a job to be seduced.. I can look sexy without my photog making advances on me!

Ruth started out modelling for me, then assisting and modelling. Now she models, assists and shoots as well. Does all of them really, really well. Still can't organise the gear cupboard or make coffee the right colour, but ho hum, she's forgiven.

Girls make great assistants cause they do the job - they assist. They don't zone out and think how they'd do the shoot if they were boss, but most of all they don't hit on the models, they just pay attention and make it a bit easier for everyone to get through the day.

Girls make great photographers because other girls - the models - don't try to do that smiley chatty thing that makes all boys brains melt to the point they stop shooting and monologue about how great they are. (shooters out there - you think they really care what us old people think about ANYTHING? LOL)

Girls shooting girls doesn't always work, some girls hate it and go all shy, others thrive on it and there's no real way to tell before the shoot.
