				Weird google behavior
I just check the indexed pages of my site in google. Searched for "site:mydomain.com". In the first query, I received about 33,000 results, which is the same value that I had yesterday. Over the last few days, I noticed a decline in traffic to my site that is related to fewer indexed pages in google. Then I ran the same query again and received 527,000 results. Then I ran the query again after a minute or so, and it was back to 33,000 results. After another minute, it's now back to 527,000 results. Now, if google was updating it's index, shouldn't the switch to the new index be consistent for users? Do they redirect some search queries to the old index and some to the new index? Sucks mucho.

				 | Google has just released a new update that is affecting a lot of search querys. Search for Google Caffeine and you'll get a ton of articles about the new update. If you see fluctuating results you are probably seeing the update spreading out to the different datacenters. |

				 | Give it some time to settle down. The latest update is a big one. I wouldn't be surprised to see dramatic changes in SERPS once the dust settles... |

				 | Yeah...my serps have been all over the place. I had my google traffic triple for 3 days last month and then it went back to normalish. I hope it settles back on the good update again...lol. |

				 | Thank you for the info, kektex. I fear this change in the index is not going to work out for me. A person in the US now gets the same low number of results for my site as I do in Europe. Traffic to my site has dropped to 50% the last few days.

I notice when a site gets banned by google the se hits slowly drop off over 2-3 days starting with .com so some users see the site as banned while users in other countries may still see results. Also sometimes it works in reverse when getting listed, you may see your first se hits on a new domain not coming from .com
