I actually considered brushing up on my mandarin and heading over for something different. Even though there are a few chinese adult wm's the laws there still worry me a bit and there is no way i would close down my online adult business.

No doubt that China is set to become the next dominant economy, if it isn't already. Definitely a place of opportunity!

A good place to visit would be Shanghai during the World Expo 2010 next May.

It will be The happening place for business and technologies.

You need to make reservations now if you want to be sure of a decent hotel.

I got my invite, reservations and tickets already.

I keep hearing reports like this, but there are 1.7 Chinese college grads who can not find work right now. 70,000 factories have closed. Yet, I read in English papers that it's the job market to be in right now.

I don't know. I've worked together with Chinese students. It was a rather bad experience. They were lazy mofos.
That does not apply to all the Chinese. And they might act differently in their own country. But one will certainly experience a culture shock.
They will not tell you what they think.
They follow their traditional rules and customs.
Chinese students have just about the same education skills as others. It will still be very hard to find a job.

You will find that situation changing rapidly. Things are getting more expensive every month, and there is an emerging middle class that has the same or more disposable income that the American middle class has. Give it another 5-10 years and you are going to see China as one hell of a wealthy nation.

when i lived in canada i had this buddy who worked in china about 4 months out of the year back when oil was high (still is actually) and he's one rich old dude, does hydrostatic testing for gas pipelines etc. china paid him VERY well, more than he would make in canada so there is big money there if u bring a skill they need

not sure if all the china news i hear in thailand makes it to the west, but a porn operator in china got executed last year. its a serious crime in china.
