You obviously didn't watch it or have no clue about MMA. Kimbo won by LUCK.
When Kimbo fell on his ass, Alexander should have pounded him into the ground and not stood there looking confused. I've got money on it that it was setup. How could Kimbo lose his DEBUT into the UFC? If he lost, he probably would have retired that old ass of his. And it was one of the most boring fights I've ever seen. They circled each other for a round and a half. It wasn't a dance off, it's MMA. FIGHT!@ And to top it off, I'm pissed that Sportsbook didn't deposit my money in time. Kimbo was the underdog and I had a feeling he'd win so I was going to bet on him. $100 bet would have won me bankkkk.

No he did NOT kick houston's ass...
I was rooting for Kimbo for this fight. INititally I thought he would lose, knowing houston's style. The 2nd round was better than anything and to be honest im more disappointed in kimbo for not having houston knocked out after the 2nd round... Two times that night fighters didnt take advantage of their wobbly opponents... Part of me screams fix too since houston didnt even throw a punch til 3rd round and fought like weve never seen before... but who knows... Then came the point where he toppled kimbo... Houston was just plain and simply too tired to finish him... Kimbo got up, houston threw another kick and kimbo simply lifted his leg and toppled him on hiss ass... that only happened because Houston was exhausted... After his last couple fights i wouldnt be surprised if he dosnt train for the full 15... Yes kimbo won, but the only thing you can even mention was the slam... the rest was disappointing...

Kimbo should not even be on TV anymore, he's only there for Marketing. Since Lesnar is gone now they need someone to up their buy rate in the future.
Kimbo has lost fights hands down to two half assed fighters. They change the rules to have him there. Kimbo can kick some fat guys asses in street fights, but after that he's not nearly as good as his hype.

Ive kinda dismissed the heavyweights all together. Its much more exciting watching the middleweights and the lightweights. Far more dynamic. You get to see stand up and in the blink of an eye.. its a ground game.. and then back to punching.
As for this fight in particular, Huston was picked for this fight.. because he will stand and bang.. but it looks like he respected Kimbo's right hand too much.. I had flashbacks of the Kaleb Starnes vs Nate Quarry fight. Is Kaleb still running I wonder?

Honestly I was confused by the decision - I think Houston won it and the judges scored inaccurately.
Sure, Kimbo had pretty good ground work, and really did control it here and there - but he literally initiated nothing throughout the entire fight. Houston is an awesome guy, and his fights really haven't yet let him truly shine; I did feel he had too much respect for Kimbo and as such didn't fight with as much aggression as is appropriate for him. In my opinion Houston won and the judges scored it funny. Yet & still - excellent display of sportsmanship.

American Top Team was represented by three fighters on on TUF Heavyweights Finale last night.
First up for ATT was Darrill Schoonover taking on James McSweeney. Darrill fought hard, but got caught late in the third round resulting in a TKO loss. Darrill is a tough kid who trained very hard for this fight. He was a pleasure to have in the academy. We hope to see Darrill back training with us after his active duty commitment to the Army. He will report to Afghanistan for a 14 month tour. Best of luck to Darrill! Next up for ATT was Mark Bocek. Mark took on Joe Brammer and did what he does best, getting the takedown and patiently working for the fight ending rear naked choke at 3:36 of round one. Mark looked very sharp and a lot of that has to do with his work ethic. Mark is another guy that is just an awesome training partner for so many in the gym. Great to have him training with us and part of the team. Congrats Mark! This next fight had a crazy amount of hype and publicity surrounding it. Representing American Top Team, Kimbo Slice made his Octagon debut taking on UFC veteran Houston Alexander. Kimbo was a big underdog heading into this bout but he did a great job of pulling out the unanimous decision win. During his time with us, Kimbo worked hard with our Muay Thai trainer "Cha" and head coach Ricardo Liborio in preparing for this bout. It was good to work with Kimbo, his manager Mike, and the rest of Team Kimbo. We look forward to doing it again! Congrats to the fighters. They all fought hard last night. American Top Team

You are either favorable to houston or you dont like Kimbo.. I like both fighters... I was rooting for Kimbo but i expected a Houston hurricane for the win... I was utmost surprised by the whole fight. But, you cant one second honestly think houston did the majority of damage in the cage... Like was stated, Kimbo controlled the cage...HOuston was in retreat damn near the whole time. Kimbo had take downs. Houston landed ONLY kicks... he only threw fists in the third... Kimbo COULD have knocked him out in the 2nd, Especially 3rd... If you want to talk about fucked up judgings, try talking about the lyoto-vs-Shogun fight... Now THAT was a bad call...

Ok, so I found a copy of the vid and watched it. i didn't see the first round, it was cut from the video I watched and they said it was just a bunch of circling anyways. What I did see from the 2nd 2 rounds was a very improved Kimbo, controlling the fight. Maybe not in spectacular style, but still controlling Houston. He made some nice takedowns, and showed some good ground game. He's evolving as a fighter. Houston had some good striking and landed some nice punches. That takedown with the leg kick was nice. But all in all Kimbo still kept things under control.
What can you say? Kimbo won it, and he won it with a more technical fight than I would have expected. He's continuously getting better. Keep in mind here that this is Houston's 7th UFC fight now. he's been around the block and shown that he can do damage. It's a good win for Kimbo! |

See this is what i dont get... in the end yes it made me think they were both tired... I know houston was, but appearance wise, Kimbo did not and i thought he could a have done more or even taken the win with a KO... but he didnt... Watch it again... third round... kimbo is arms up, fully guarding... he did show fatigue when he got knocked down though. Just didnt seem like he was breathing hard or fatigued standing up..
Im sure he was tired, and if he was real tired, he atleast kept his guard which is good...

Everyone was expecting a brawl and a knock out slugfest, but Houston made it clear he was gonna circle around and use leg kicks to take out Kimbo's legs. I was glad to see KImbo is working on his ground game and trying to improve
And yes he's not ready to take on the big named fighters right now, give him time to train and improve and let's see what happens in the future
