travel medical health insurance - who buys it?

I'm canadian and whenever I travel out of the country I buy it.

I used to have a policy that covered me for the year on all travel from Amex - up to one month trips but no more CC so i bought blue cross this time. $18

On the eve of traveling to vegas - who here buys travel medical health insurance?

Yeah, I did it everytime I traveled to US, using a local insurance house.

Fortunately, never had to apply it, although they assured me it's accepted in US, I suppose that in the best case I would have to pay everything in cash and claim it back later.

You'd be an idiot not to travel w/ insurance.
You can get corporate level global insurance for 12 months, covers everything up to 1M in costs: $1000 a year.

Makes perfect sense.

I buy 1 year at a time worth of coverage from RBC, its much cheaper than booking on a per trip basis.
