Actors will lease images of their appearances for motion pictures.

Because a cartoon like Avatar can win best "Dramatic" motion picture, and now that we all are accepting "cartoon images" in place of real people, within 20 years actors will be leasing their images to movie companies and simply doing the voice overs.

An aging actor in his late 60's can lease his image to a movie studio, the image of when he was 40, for a motion picture, and because we all now accept the computer generated images as the real thing, Hollywood can now simply delete the use of real actors in their films and have everybody replaced in digital. Managers will book their clients "images" and of course make extra money for the "real" voice over. But of course, the dead actors will need pro voice impressionists to handle the load. Eventually, computers will figure out how to speak for the actors as well.

Now Hollywood can go back and remake old movies, or new ones starring ANY actor from the past or present.

Female superstars that are out of the industry because they lost thier looks, can now re book their images when they were younger and hit the silver screen again via digital.

One day you might see a young Brooke Shields or Marylin Monroe in a new hit motion picture.

Acting will go the way of the DoDo. Real acting will only be seen on stage, not in film.

In the last 10 years, stunt men are almost non existent in film because of the digital revolution. We all except that now. When an actor gets blown out of a car, we all know it's fake and move on.

Now, the entire actor is fake (cartoon image) and we give that movie an award for BEST DRAMA. Avatar = BEST DRAMA? Are they kidding? An upset cartoon image can win best drama??

It truly marks the end of motion pictures as we enter a new era of digital cartoons and mental trickery.

One day, you can tell your grand kids on how you used to watch movies with "REAL" people in them. ...they'll laugh and say, "gee, how old are you?"

The older actors who are like 40 - they can be made to look like they are 20 with the cartoons. Good show.

When they made the latest Terminator they used a poor 3D of Arnold for which im sure he was very well paid. I just hope the quality of the graphics improves. So far i haven't seen any 3D animation that comes close to looking real. Avatar was too long, should not have been 3D and was very obviously computer graphics. It was entertaining and im happy Cameron made bank. But like Spiderman, Batman and all the other films that use 3D animation for flying and fast action scenes, computer graphics has a long way to go yet to be believable

When you walk out of the theatre and only comment on the movie (not the special efx) full animation will have arrived. Cameron blew that horn in Titanic with the stick men on the bridge and the decks. Fail.

Will you watch porn that was all digital characters? NO, because it ruins the fantasy. Same for film, its the fantasy. Digital has its place in drama films, but it cannot replace the real actors.

Never say never. There is a whole new generation being born as we speak, and if you are lucky enough to last another twenty years, they will scratch their heads when you trot out this argument. They simply will be raised on it and expect it. Kind of like you watching an old black and white tv show today.

there were times when they said that speech would ruin a movie - or color

there will always be movies will real people and real emotions - i am kind of a movie freak and i am not worried at all. and i thank digital technology for movies like Lord of the Rings - because without that those movies would be impossible to shoot. And it's not surprising that Weta Digital also made Avatar possible.
