Bourbon whiskey quite possibly the worst booze ever devised?
I'm all out of tequila and too lazy to go to the store.
In situations like this, I keep looking at this bottle of Jim Beam that's been kicking around here through a few holiday seasons.... but every time I try even one tiny sip I wanna hurl on my shoes. I think I'd rather have a nice glass of hot foot water than ever taste bourbon again. And to think, 25 years ago I drank that shit like there was no tomorrow. oh well. Foot water it is then. |

How were you able to tolerate it so well 25 years ago? I've never understood how people can drink Jim Beam or Jack Daniels.
Jameson whiskey has some fans but to me it tastes like gasoline. My favorite so far is Crown Royal, I buy it regularly... although I've not had a ton of whiskeys, so I'm not exactly a connoisseur. |

Some people like bourbon but I've never been able to stand it at all.

I usually stick to Grey Goose, Patron Silver, and Kettle One... they're all I need.
Do you find that drinking inspires your work? |

But in moderation it does loosen me up a bit when I hit a sticking point. If I'm 3/4 through a project and get hung up, I find the best thing to do is walk away from it for a few hours, have a couple tequilas and some music and generally just unwind myself from it. Seems to work. |

I cant really "drink" anymore since 1999 when I got very close to alcohol poisoning....
I couldn't drink or smell alcohol for months and the smell would make me nauseous... These days i can handle a beer or 2 and maybe only do st8 shots of goose or patron anything else makes me wanna puke.. I was psychology fucked up from that incident |

Maker's Mark, Knob Creek & Basil Hayden are my go to ever time. A special treat is a Michter's American Bourbon.

I once re-decorated the nice tweed wallpapered walls in a very nice hotel room because of Bourbon.
I was only 16 though. Was in the Bahamas. Boy was my grandma pissed at me. |

I've tried a few different ways of diluting (mixing) the shit out of it, but nothing gets rid of that whiskey smell. Then one sip and that whiskey taste and the rest goes down the kitchen sink. But I keep the bottle here for Christmas times in case somebody wants a drink. I usually pour one glass per year for someone because none of the fam drinks.

Bourbon and tequila for me. I like Maker's Mark but don't mind Jim Beam. Escorpio ain't no snob.

If I want a nice sipper I'll get a bottle of Scapa or Glenmorangie. But really, who buys a good bottle if the end goal is to just get shitfaced? Scotch, scotch, scotch, I like scotch... |

Been there hundreds of times... and through dreadful trial and error, I have my tolerance down to an exact science. I have learned to measure what I'm drinking precisely... everyone laughs when I'm pouring shots in a glass, but I haven't all that bad ever since I started taking note of how much I'm consuming... |
