home theater recommendations
I'm looking for a replacement for my Kenwood VR-3090 since I lost the remote and buying a new touchscreen remote will cost about the same that I paid for the receiver. I already have a good subwoofer and 6 good speakers. Can anyone recommend a good mid price level receiver to replace the one I have or perhaps a remote that can handle the model I already have that isn't ridiculously expensive?

which Denon receiver do you have? Many years ago I bought a Denon AVR-3802 for $1800 and I still have it to this day. Bought it in I think 2001.

I have an ONKYO setup, but I'm not an expert and I'm too lazy to go see what the model is

Denon rocks.. The Denon receiver that I have is almost 10 years old and it still works like brand new and produces great sound.

I've had two Denon receivers go bad on me in less than a year. I won't buy any more. I know they're a very respected brand but... from personal experience, I won't buy another...
I opted for a higher end Yamaha which hasn't gone bad on me yet! I've got a set of Klipsch speakers as I really like them for the price/performance ratio. They are plenty enough for me. I love audio but I'm not an audiophile nut that drops $300 per cable and $20k per floor speaker :P

There surely are better and worse Denon receivers. Are you talking about their high-end products?

My Denon receiver has been great for four years now. I use it with a Klipsch speaker setup.
