Godaddy Thread : What problems did you get with them ?

I'm using godaddy for many years and I never got a single problem with them, ok I have only hundred domains there but I see more and more "fuck goddady" posts and I don't understand the problem. The only clear problem I saw is a guy who saw his domains locked because of spam, and he was spamming, so no surprise.

Tell me you story

I haven't had any problems with them, other than the fact that when I try to buy a domain from my place in Cancun, they only show prices in pesos (at a horrible conversion), so I have to wait until I'm state-side to buy anything.

Have you tried using a U.S. based proxy server?

no problems with them 500+ domains there and the rest split up with 4-5 other registrars.

Only had one issue with them. It was for a meds domain that i forwarded to a meds sponsor. They killed it and wanted $$ to get it back. They said in their TOS it says you cannot have a pharma site to which I explained to them I do not. The domain is just forwarding to someone else's site which is another domain not owned by me, hosted by me or registered thru them.

I had a domain there and put a blank index.html on it and was deciding what to do on the domain when they sent me a boilerplate email saying that someone claimed I had sent email spam from the domain.

They didnt care that I had only logged in once so far and had not even set up an email account yet. They refused to tell me anything else, or show me a copy of this supposed email, so I told them to go fuck themselves and transfered the domain away.

If you were sitting alone in a room with your hands on your knees and someone opened the door threatening you unless you stopped punching holes in the wall, how would you feel?

I wouldnt use them again if it was free.

The only time I tried them they pissed me off so I left them. I bought a couple of domains through them when they had a sale. Then I went to transfer about 10 domains to them from a different registrar. For whatever reason the the transfers couldn't go through. No problem. The problem was Go Daddy wouldn't give me my money back. They would only issue me a credit. I ended up buying a few more domains with the credit and immediately transferring them away.

Only thing I noticed is when I use their name servers and try to delete their default cname and mx records in bulk they don't delete. Other than that, I have not had any problems. They are also unclear about being able to use their name servers, indicating one can do so if they use their hosting but do not indicate one can do so if they host elsewhere even though it appears one can.
