If you connect your laptop to a physical electrical socket, you don't need a wireless connection. Wireless internet is more expensive than usual internet, isn't it. I have heard also that at some places you can connect wirelessly to the internet from your laptop for free, such as some Colleges that offer free wireless connections to people with laptops located inside the College. However, these Colleges also may not allow people to use computers for non-academic or commercial uses.
