I'm kind of upset that the world hasn't ended yet...the McCain/Palin robots promised that if Obama won, the world would end...but, nothing...come on, Apocalypse!

A vote for Ron Paul was no different than a vote for Ralph Nader or Ross Perot....

Picking the best non-viable candidate is fun... it also doesn't get them elected.

Like many others have said here, he was handed a shit sandwich and has been trying to make the best of it. That doesn't mean I agree with everything he has done, but I think he has done some good stuff to help us get back on track. At the same time I think he has taken his eye off the ball and messed some things up.

I think the hardest part of being president is that first 1-1.5 years. you get into office with big expectations (and none were ever higher than those for Obama) and you have all these promises you have made and things you want to do then you realize that the reality of saying you are going to do them and actually being able to get them done are two different things. Our system is set up in a way that when you want something, if the other party doesn't want it, they have plenty of ways to stop it and there has been no shortage of that.

Could he have done a better job with the oil spill? Maybe, but I don't see it as being his Katrina. They are two very different things. Rules and laws basically forced him to stay out of it if he gave an executive order to let the government step in and take over, the republicans would have shit little green elk because the Socialist was now taking over the oil industry.

All this said, I think he is getting his feet under him and learning how to play the game. He is starting to do things that maybe he should have done a year ago, but at least he is moving towards them. I have a feeling that the republicans will win back the house in the fall so we will have a republican house and a democrat senate and white house. Maybe that will cause him to curb in some of his big spending ideas and focus more on balancing the budget now, instead of 12 years from now. It worked well for Clinton when he had to deal with the republicans.

Overall I give him a grade of a B and I think things are looking up. I think he needs to get on immigration reform ASAP or we are going to quickly see this country start to be torn apart as the red and blue states fight with each other over the different laws they pass.

Just saying...
That was one more than he ever needed to visit... that one visit, made no difference just like if he visited 10 times, it would have made no difference.

On the other hand, Katrina whipped out half a city and many other towns, people dieing, starving, people stuck. The President coming into a controlled area makes it appear safe, that he is on duty.

Not exactly the same thing going on here... Lord Obama is mighty powerful but he can't do shit to stop the oil.

Ron Paul got all of 35k votes... with all the huge Internet hype, bullshit that people donated millions... he never had a chance, will never have a chance, and couldn't possibly win even if every other candidate dropped dead during the primaries.

No need to go down the whole list..

Was he a better choice than McCain, possibly.
I would've voted for Hillary Clinton. It would've been my choice to see a woman with real political experience in office rather than what we have today. A junior senator from a basically corrupt democratic state with his only management experience running a daycare for wayward adults.

It does not matter whether you support him or not and it did not matter who was elected in 2008 as they were 4 years and out from the get go. Too much to fix, too much gone wrong. No one could have made it through these 4 years and get re-elected.

Sure hasn't stopped it though.

All I have seen is a string of broken promises.

Where is the transparency we were promised? Televised debate on health care? What about no closed door, secret negotiations?

Lies, lies and more lies. But what should we expect, he is a professionally groomed politician?

While campaigning he promised to have troops out of Iraq last week. I wonder why MSNBC and CNN are not reporting on that lie?

"In the 2008 general election, Paul still received 41,905 votes" That's with write'ins too, he only got like 35k votes during the election. Source is Ron Pauls wiki page.

Given the choice I too would have voted for Clinton over Obama. I also agree that he has added some turds to the sandwich. I think his major failure has been that he saw the super majority and decided to push hard to get things through that the democrats have wanted for decades instead of focusing on solving the problems at hand. His number one priority should have been the economy and jobs. We shouldn't have seen him doing health care and gitmo and don't ask don't tell and other things first. It should have been jobs first and everything else afterwards.

We didn't have a great choice when it got down to him and McCain. The choice was the guy with very little experience or the guy that might die in his first year and leave a crazy woman in charge.

Like I said, I think he started off rough, but I think he is coming around and starting to get his feet under him. He is a populist and needs to get over that, his approval rating won't be going up much from where it is now no matter what he does. Pretty much every president hovers around 50%. He needs to forget trying to make everyone happy and just do the job.

The two party's put forth some really lame candidates last election. Ron Paul looked good to me on financial, government, and foreign policy but he needs somebody strong to balance him out and bring him back to center and make him more palatable for mainstream America. I hope he picks a good running mate next election.

I see a lot of people here still blaming Bush, been a year and a half and it's not gotten any better. I think it's time for the new guy to take responsibility, don't you?

I think he's a racist, remember Beer Gate and the way he dealt with Israel? Probably can't shake his Islamic upbringing. Is he the first president to bow to leaders of other nations? Probably why Iran isn't too worried about what we'll do!

I think he's a bad leader, he has not got the GOP behind him in anything he's been pushing thru. Yeah you could blame that on the GOP, but that's just an excuse.

I think he cares more about his agenda than the American people, with 70% of the population backing Arizona's new law, that ass hat let the Mexican President Bash the American People in front of congress, this from a administration that has a Attorney General that didn't read the Arizona law and passed judgement on it and a Home Land Security Secretary that did the same thing.
Instead of doing something about the economy and jobs, we have more government and more debt.
The size of the government has grown in leaps and bounds, who pays for this? the people that are not working or under employed?

And for gods sake, when he gives a speech, could he just once look at the FUCKING CAMERA? It's like he's lying and can't look you in the eye!

I will say one thing he's doing I like, he's backing Barbara Boxer and if things repeat themselves, that means that bitch is gone!! LMAO

OK, I'm done

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that
