Sorry about placing this in the general discussion but I was too excited about this news to bury it in the services posts. After many years of me trying to have someone develop a true high speed, grid transcoding platform, Limelight has come through. Using our 12 Peta-byte cloud, we now offer the ability to transcode to multiple formats, at multiple bit rates, through the Limelight Networks Cloud.

Any customer of Limelight can easily gain access to this technology which will greatly simplify work flow by allowing you to upload your files into the cloud, have them quickly transcoded and made available for use from our network.

As many of you here are already customers, I felt you would want to know as this is an optimal offering for those with robust video libraries. Contact me if you would like a trial.

Imagine the hours you can save not to mention the cost of infrastructure in building your own transcode farm.

Interesting, that is how we do it these days.

Hosting company has our source files and GPU transcoding on the fly ;)
