Great news for Canadians looking to buy the new iPhone 4 on its July launch date.

Apple will make the phone available unlocked enabling it to be used on the network of choice and avoid having to sign up a long term contract with service providers.... and due to it having a micro sim it can be easily switched from carrier to carrier ..ideal for travelling overseas (avoiding big roaming fees etc)

Well it makes sense to get it on contract if your happy with the provider ...saves you a ton of $$$$$ (subsidised)

It certainly doesn't save you any money. Total Cost of Ownership over the length of the contract is always cheaper if you buy the phone upfront.
