:mad More Right Wing Hypocrisy

Top Senate Republican Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) insisted on Sunday that Congress should extend the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans regardless of their impact on the deficit, even as he and other Republicans are blocking unemployment insurance extensions over deficit concerns.

There isn't an ounce of hypocrisy in there... apples and oranges... check out how unemployment insurance works first...

on top of that... yes the tax cuts should be extended PERMANENTLY... The government needs to learn how to tax less and spend less... not tax more and spend even more...

It works like this...

The money people receive from unemployment is INSTANTLY spent, and INSTANTLY stimulates the economy.

The tax money saved by the rich, does not.

That's how it works.

Money from unemployment doesn't stimulate the fucking economy... and I'm talking about where the funds come from... one comes from the pockets of a citizen to the pocket of the government... one comes from the pockets of companies to the pockets of FORMER employees...

Then end the income tax NOW and stop taking peoples money WEEKLY and that would be spent NOW. Talk about hypocrisy of the left

If the Bush tax cuts are not extended you do realize the poorest tax payers will see a 50% increase in their tax bill as the lowest tax rate will go from 10% to 15%?

The top percent still pay less than they did under Reagan, so how about we get them back to that level. Surely that is fair?

The only fair income tax is no tax.

The only thing even remotely close to "fair" is the Fair-Tax...

Pay tax on what you consume... no ifs/ands/buts about it. You buy big toys, you pay more in taxes...

Abolish income tax it's completely unconstitutional... it's legal slavery.

I bet we'd almost all agree that the US income tax system sucks. Even the IRS will probably register just to agree with that.

Really?

Taxes and spending that money on unemployed people = redistribution of wealth. Aside from being totally unethical it's also completely counterproductive. I recommend you read the paper Hans Hermann Hoppe wrote on 'Time Preference'.

Money saved (by the poor, by the rich,.... by people who worked (produced a product or provided a service)...) is money that can be invested in the economy.

I like that the righties on this board were happy to state that the poor do not pay any federal taxes, but somehow their non-existent federal taxes will now go up, if the Bush tax cuts for the rich, expire. Good stuff!

By the way, here is a graph of US tax rates over the years...

Holy shit! Obama's tax rate proposal is RADICAL!!

He must be a socialist, like Reagan!

Dear idiot, Reagan lowered taxes from a higher level. The only people interested in higher taxes are those who get a free handout at the expense of others.

Not according to reality, but hey, this is GFY, right?

Obama is following the paths of former presidents when it comes to balancing the budget...

Yeah, got to tax more people period to keep the Obamacare and the Obamadebt funded don't we? Obamanation demands it.

Good economics to spend more than we have, then just tax more to catch up, the rich don't need it, they are just the small business's that employ others, if they get taxed more, they can just spend less on employee's, right?

Funny how Reagan got the economy going again by cutting taxes and Obama is trying the other approach, is it working yet?

Obama has grown the size of the government
Reagan made this statement about that
"In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem."

Mass socialism does not fucking work and all we are doing now is preventing the inevitable. All this is (unemployment insurance) is the Dems trying to stay in public favor and delay past the next election. It has nothing to do with Bush tax cuts or how the Republicans are trying to block unemployment insurance. It's all about a political party staying in power and how our Government will sacrifice the American peoples future to do so.
Thats pretty much their plan as I see it, when has unemployment ever paid out past 99 weeks before?

A revolution of the people? People are too well-fed today. Need a lot more hungry people first, and then they'll start to eat the rich.

A revolution within? Would need several states to pull out together?

I think it make sense for rich people to pay big taxes and poor people pay small taxes. If you put a big tax on the poor, they might starve to death.

Let's look at how the right plans to win back the White House in 2012...

? Vote against healthcare reform.
? Call Obama a socialist.
? Apologize for the BP oil spill.
? Compare Obama to Hitler.
? Vote against unemployment extensions.
? State that Obama is not a US citizen.
? Vote against Wall Street reform.
? Flipflop on all GOP proposals that Obama presents.
? Start a racist fringe group called the Tea Party.
? Defend the upper 2% of the wealthiest, no matter what.
? Compare Obama to Carter.
? Vote against immigration reform.

Guess who gets re-elected in 2012?

Nice formula! - I love it!

Please run Palin to seal the deal!

? Compare Obama to Carter.
? Vote against immigration reform.

Guess who gets re-elected in 2012?

Nice formula! - I love it!

Please run Palin to seal the deal!
1) work on a healthcare that everyone reads before signing
2) I called him an asshole, lets get it straight
3) NO, that would be Obama appoligizing for everything our country did before Obamanation got here
4) LIke you didn't compare Bush to someone?
5) Whens the last time we had unemployment for 99 weeks? Better to get people working than putting a bandaid on it
6) Yeah some people think his real name is Barry Soetoro, they did call him Barry in college
7) I would have liked it better if both sides could have agreed on this
8) Proposals like don't vote for that healthcare bill, we can't afford it, nor can anyone read or understand all of it, but Pelosi said they are going to vote on it anyways?
9) LOL, nice claim, unfounded several times, but the only racist that I'm concerned about is Obama
10) They do supply the jobs, seems to be a shortage of that lately
11) To Carter? Carter was just worthless, Obama is far more dangerous
12) Reform is ok, just secure the fucking border first, is that too much to ask?

I gave up trying to talk sense to right wing fruitcakes. Life is too short and arguing about this kind of crap doesn't advance me in life in any way. So, not going to spend any more of it smacking my forehead with a brick. I spent half a year "giving a shit" and debating all this shit for the sake of interactive experience, but now I'm going back to Plan A: Take care of #1 and fuck the rest of the world.... I'm done giving a shit. The world can now continue being all fucked up, without my input on it. Good luck.

Of course we need to correct the mistaken tax cuts... it hurt us and yep, people will probably have to pay more.... go back to the way it was just 10 years ago, yep those bad times we all made shit loads of money! Obama said he would be doing this during the campaign, with cheers that followed.

And yep, we got pay for the healthcare plan coming out that the majority of Americans wanted and Obama campaigned on and actually brought to the people that were go nuts shit happy when he talked about it.

The more the money flow happens the less it bottlenecks money and the better the economy will do. Like history has proven, increase the taxes first, force the money to move then we can balance it out and lower them back. But what we had wasn't 'back' it was too damn low and hurting the money flow - what Obama is doing is putting it back to the point when the Economy did its best - like logic says you should.

Increase taxes on the rich (who already pay most of your taxes for you) .. not a good idea. Eventually it reaches a point where they say "fuck you" and move everything offshore to one of those hundreds of countries that know taxing the rich too much is a bad bad idea.

Gotta love the sense of entitlement from the poor.

Here, if you're an American you pay global tax on money earned, you report your income either way otherwise it's criminal. Some rules change a little once you live off shore, but if you live here you can make all the money you want some place else and you're still paying taxes, unless you're not the majority owner - but you would for any direct income earned.

The taxes aren't increasing, they're simply going back to a previous level. A level which did not have rich people running from our Country but making the most money ever in history.

Just 5-8 years before that, taxes were crazy higher than they will be returning to... again, they didn't leave the Country and during that time the economy sucked for a good bit too. But as always it helps boost things and turn it around for the future.

Absolute total bullshit.... completely wrong. You sir, don't know the first thing about economics.

Epic Fail

The rich use the money to invest in businesses, which creates jobs. Even when they take blocks of capital and put it into mutual funds, or just a savings account, it ends up invested. They don't hide the money under their beds. It's always circulated through investment, growing businesses, or spending on large items/services. The rich get that way because they use their money to create more wealth. When you raise taxes, it goes into a government system that does not create wealth in any way. The government either takes it from the actual producers of wealth, or it inflates the money by printing more, or it borrows it in the form of bonds. The government creates NOTHING in terms of actual wealth for society.

EVERY SINGLE TIME, taxes are lowered, the economy is stimulated, more jobs are created, more people are working and paying taxes, and the actual tax revenues realized GO UP!!

This has been proven over and over and over again. It was the reason why for example the depression of 1920 was avoided, and instead we had the roaring 20s. By the same token, raising taxes is the reason that the US depression of the 30s lasted so much longer than it did everywhere else.

You really should read some books on economics and history.

Just sayin....

Or you could say the depression of 1920 was avoided because taxes increased, and when they super dropped it down it sparked the 1030's depression. Then after the depression started, they sky rocketed taxes... It did not lower back to previous points until Reagan took office, which again fucked us up. Daddy bush kinda corrected, Clinton corrected, Economy took off again - (as it went off) Bush Jr comes in, lowers taxes - Economy falls.

Here's a graph, of top rates... some high income brackets back then, sure not that many making that - so this isn't the average but it gives you a damn good idea of the "rich" version.

Well, based on your logic, and 8 years of these great practices, I wonder why we find ourselves in Shitsville. Must be Obama's 18 months eh?

There was an election between 2 candidates. America voted. Your side lost...

And you will lose again in 2012.

where do you get 8 years?
Democratic controlled house and senate for 3 years and 6 months, when did shitsville start? about 3 years ago.

OK, the YOUR SIDE thingy really shows me a lot, it shows this is some kinda competition for you, it's not, its about whats being done wrong and how do we fix it for the sack of all of US, don't get sucked into the democratics and Obama know what they're doing and what they are doing is the right thing no matter how bad it gets brain freeze

Holy shit! Obama's tax rate proposal is RADICAL!!

He must be a socialist, like Reagan!
the interesting part of that graph is the period between the 30's to the 70's. you know. the time period we came out of the depression and became an economic super power. seems hurt the argument that deep tax cuts for the rich are good for the economy shit right-wingers keep spewing.

the only thing deep tax cuts for the rich seems to accomplish is to enlarge the wealth divide.
