It's the pictures that are underneath peoples names on other boards. So if they were enabled here you could upload or serve an X x X image to be seen. Kinda like a 'logo' or something.

Things that would improve this board would be transparent and _useful_

Most people on this site are just kinda fucking around, unless they're looking for something specific. Allowing people to put more information in their off-board profile might be handy for some people, but isn't there isn't a compelling need, so it probably won't happen.

The search tool kicks ass.

The only feature I'd like to see added would be the ability to create a topic-specific collage of flagged posts garnered from search results and browsing and being able to share that with other users on an elective basis. But that's the miner in me.

There are lot of funky widgets I can think of, but none of them are clearly neceassary, and I it's important to keep your shit clean and useful if you want people to use it.
