Is there still a market for offshore hosting?

We are down in Costa Rica and Panama researching data centers. Down here sports books and gambling sites are legal among other things. We are trying to find out how big we should invest on our new Data Center.

Which depends how many people still might use off shore hosting.

Yes.

There will always be a market for those who think that will shield them from U.S. laws while their company, and them, are based in the U.S.. They're wrong, but I see on many WM boards still seeking a service like this.

Just need to make sure "everything" is off shore and has no ties what so ever to an american company.

What do you mean by the limit?

Pretty simple a US based company with operations not in the country will still be subject to US law.

You'd probably get more of a response for other forums about this. DG rings a bell.

There would be plenty of market for it. Assuming as mentioned, there is no way, US laws can be enforced there. More often than not, we see those offshore companies offering safe harbor against US laws but often buckle when pressured by the US.

But if it is really an offshore hosting company that will not buckle to pressure, then yes, there would be a huge market for it.

For gaming and sports bets im not so sure the demand is huge now as many countries issue gaming licences and allow hosting ?..i think getting the actual licence was the problem/reason in the past ?.

I live next to the Kahnawake reserve..this is what one gaming review site has to say ( im no expert on the subject hence the quote)

"Full Tilt Poker is fully licensed and regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. The KGC is a sovereign nation within the borders of Quebec, Canada and shares a positive relationship with the provincial government. The KGC is the only body to officially license online gaming in North America and has grown to host over half of all gaming sites online. Another big positive is that all US Full Tilt Poker players can deposit directly via their checking accounts. The fact that they are able to offer this service alone speaks to their excellent reputation and legal history."

Seems they host half the main sites online.....

Offshore means less taxes. I think there is a market for that.

A large portion of people wanting "offshore" hosting are spammers - simple as that. Why cater to that crowd?

We have a zero spam tolerance.

It would be for companies that simply wanted to run out of the US, some benefits might be less taxes then some countries, less rules and regulations, gambling and escorts sites are legal.

We have been working with our lawyer and companies that run from here are not restricted to doing business here so simply put if you have a bank account here you are sheltered. This requires a corporation which we can help with for about $900

Which is a good idea, we can offer hosting and also internet based business relocation services for cheap.

Does anyone know of any off shore gaming sites that are offering services? I would be interested in getting started with a few accounts. My previous site is now down. You can email me at [email protected]
