I've lost about 5% body fat in the past month on the CKD diet. It's seriously out of this world.

Dropped ~8kilos and ~6% body fat since February, but recently hit a plateau the past 6-8 weeks I haven't been able to move past.
Trying a 5-day detox right now (day 2) to see if that might help give me a jumpstart. Haven't done one in a few years. That said, I haven't actually tried that hard...just kept making adjustments and changes in my habits here and there.

I started with 25-30 but got all the way to 50 tops and still hit ketosis. This diet was relatively easy because of the instant results, and because I knew I get 1 carb up day a week where I would go absolutely nuts. This is by far the best diet I've ever heard of and it's perfect to lose body fat while maintaining muscle mass. If you don't know what your "sweet spot" is, stay at 30 or under, although I'd think even 40 is a good threshold for most people.

Body got used to it probably, or he's miscalculating his daily intake and/or eating maintenance.

Well, I was trying to do more "permanent changes" than actual "dieting".
I ONLY drink water (and alcohol). Alcohol wise, I only have whisky straight (or the odd few light beers). I at 5-6 times a day instead of twice a day (used to skip breakfast a lot). I eliminated eating almost all canned and frozen/processed foods. I added more fresh vegetables and fresh fruits to my diet. I try and do 40% protein, 35% carbs, 25% fat. I try and get my fats all from healthy products like nuts, peanut butter, beans. I try and drink no less than 3L of water a day. So, that worked well but then stopped working (while adjusting my calories as I lost weight). That's why I am hoping a detox may help jumpstart it again.

http://mastover.com/ The guy is seriously good at what he does which is help people attain their goals. I was 198lbs (seriously overweight for 5 foot 6) and am now 152lbs. My goal is 145 and I've one from a 36 waist to a 31.5 waist. If you stall, he's at hand to shake things up so you get going again.

One additional comment is I am not trying to lose weight, I am trying to lose only fat and retain and even build further muscle mass - that is obviously tougher and a slower process than these quick diets where people drop a lot of weight, but also drop a lot of muscle along with it.
So, I think if I can drop another 5-8 kilos by end of the year, I'll be happy with my results.

He is and he competes professionally (natural bodybuilder). If I'm not mistaken, he's over 50 and still winning competitions.

Thanks, my major goal left is to reduce restaurants and eating out; even if I make healthy choices there, I know they are a lot worse than eating at home.
Problem is, unless you go out drinking/bars/clubs, there is almost nothing else to do here at night but restaurants.

I can understand you wanting to do it on your own. For me, I KNEW I needed help and tried various different plans and stuff before finding out about Aram. I'm glad I did! Good luck with your transformation ....

I've lost all I really want to lose, (for the most part) but gained some back after getting on the new plan. The new plan is to basically graze all day like a goat... multiple small meals during the day, and a shit-ton of exercise. Been increasing the exercise/activity levels every day, and I'm feelin' it home skillet. I'm sore as fuck from head to toe... in a good way.
No more sodas No more sugar no more coffee obviously no booze of any kind No fast food of any kind No more junk (chips, cookies, nachos, popcorn, etc) Less red meat, more pork, chicken, fish & veggies/fruits Lots of exercise More exercise I feel fucking fantastic man. And it has improved my mood exponentially. Every day just gets better. I owe credit to you specifically for most of my motivation. ![]()

mine is lean and mean- 2 dumbbell handles ~150 lbs of standard weight plates 1 ultra heavy resistance band pull up bar i do my *bench* presses/flyes lying on the floor and put a wide board angled up against the couch to do incline presses/flyes. lolz ghetto eh. i've gone overboard in the past with trainers, gym memberships, equipment, supplements, etc. but this simple arrangement has really worked well for me since nov. 2009. |
