There are currently 20 states suing and challenging

...the constitutionality of the current health care law. Since the elections and a Republican win in multiple states it is expected that eight more states will join in the action.

I suspect that when it reaches the Supreme Court...which is going to take some time...the core of the current health care law...which is mandating that everyone has to purchase private insurance...will in fact be ruled as unconstitutional. In the meantime the Congressional Republicans have already stated that a top priority of theirs is to attack the current health care and have it repealed one step at a time.

I don't understand how they can force you to purchase it.

I understand why you have car insurance, so I hope they don't use it was an example.

As I stated...I suspect the Supreme Court will rule that they can't force you to purchase it and that is the core of the health care law.

While I don't agree with it, I do see why they want to force people to buy health insurance. With this law they are now going to force insurance companies to insure people that they are going to lose money on. The reason they don't take people with pre-existing conditions is because those people are money losers for the insurance company. Now they are going to be forced to take on customers that they will lose money on. So as an offset this is the government telling the insurance industry "We are going to force you to take on people you will lose money on, but in exchange we will be handing you over a ton of other customers."

So I see why they did it, but I don't agree with it and I think it will ultimately be struck down in court. If it is struck down, look for insurance companies to sue about being forced to take on people with pre-existing conditions. They are not going to be happy about having to take on cases where they know they will lose money without some sort of compensation.

The whole health care thing in the US was just one monstromental fuck up, mainly due to lobbyists and propoganda. You know, when you see people carrying signs and yelling out, "government, keep you hands off my Medicare!", you can only really just shake your head.

The US government spends a huge amount on health care amount every year, but yet you Americans are getting fucked up the ass extremely hard in costs, then are spoon fed that you have the best health care in the world. The US should create a single payer system, cover everyone under Medicare or something, charge a nominal fee like $60/month, and put all the insurance companies out of business overnight.

That's the only way your health care system is getting fixed. Otherwise, you're just going to continue getting raped and pillaged, so the richer can get richer. Health care of your countries' citizens shouldn't be a "business for profit" model.

As for the law suit, no, it's not going to get ruled as unconstitutional, because it isn't.
