Internet Lawyer?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good lawyer with exdperience in fightiing online/Internet case. I want to hit a file sharing network that continusly posts my material.

I've read and studied the fight that James S. Grady is going through with WP-Board, but any tips or advice would be apprecaited.

Thanks in advance,

Rob.

Before finding a lawyer, you need to find the host of this network, and where they're located. When you find out the location, it may be of no use to you or a lawyer to send them a CnD as they're typically off-shore and not held by the same legalities.

I came across a website called adultweblaw and thought it might help... You can find it using google.

This link provides basic legal info, access to legal forms, and links to Internet Law resources. It's only for general information.

Overall you're best bet would be to consult an attorney in your local area

The laws on internet copyright issues are going to get tougher.

If you have a valid case and can present evidence, you may just try contacting the offender's host. Threatening DMCA violations is usually enough to get the job done.

What kind of file sharing network is it? Peer-to-Peer I'm assuming, are you going after a bittorrent tracker, or something else? You're going to need to specifically cite how your content specifically is being distributed by the network. If it's bittorrent, then unfortunately, the tracker itself is not violating your copyright, only the users who are trading around the files are.

They're asking for a lawyer. Are you a lawyer?

Indeed, I am and Internet lawyer. Affiliate marketing, online advertising, intellectual property issues, CAn SPAM compliance. Full range of advertiser and publisher agreements, etc. I am happy to help out. Great forum.
