Anyone have a Vizio TV?

I'm thinking about getting this one today to replace my Samsung DLP 720p.

http://www.amazon.com/XVT553SV-55-In...1059813&sr=8-2

I've always known Vizio to be that brand you buy if you can't afford a SONY, but the reviews on this thing are good mostly across the board, including Cnet and Attack of the Show. They say its one of the best LED sets for the money.

Do you like your Vizio, or have this particular TV?

We have a few Vizio's in our office building. The picture quality is great but we haven't gotten more than 5 years out of a single one of them. 5 Years isn't necessarily bad, but I have a personal Samsung or Sony's that have lasted me 10 years.

I read an article on Vizo a while back explaining that they reduce production cost by using cheaper resistors. Same quality, just wont last as long.

I have an older Vizio 42 1080p set, was looking to get a Sony 55" 3D myself but,

Look at this if your looking to buy that set:

http://accessories.dell.com/sna/prod...sku=a4034 645

If you have a Discover Card, they are offering 10% cashback for Dell. ($145)
http://www.discovercard.com/customer..._shd_btn_s hd

The $1500 price is a black friday/cyber monday price. Not sure if they will keep that as the current price

That doesn't bother me, because I can't remember the last HD TV I've had for more than 2 years. There's always something better around the corner, and not costing an arm and a leg. So if the Vizio gets me thru the next 2-3 years, I'd be cool with that.

I have two in the office. One is 4 or so and the other is just a few months old. Nothing but love for them. They've been great so far. If the older one died today I would say it did great for a $700 TV.

You might want to wait until January after CES. Apparently Vizio is going to be integrating Google TV into their new sets.

A buddy bought one of their 1080p sets from Costco. was surprised how good it looked. I've bought store brand TVs before that would always have some glaring flaw that stuck out, such as horrible, uneven black levels. Most of the Insignia sets from Best Buy are horrible for that.

But the Vizio seems pretty good. They even made the bezel look half decent. Insignia's always look cheap as hell.

We have a 32" Vizio in our bedroom right now. For the money, well worth it. The blacks aren't as "black" as I like but many LCDs seem to have that issue.

The previous set had a slightly better picture but at the same size it cost well over $800 and was dead in about 4 years. I can't remember what I paid for the Vizio last year but I know it was less than $400.

I guess it depends on the application, where and how you want to use it. I don't know how I would feel about it as the main TV in the livingroom, but for an office or a bedroom it's perfect.

picture quality is awesome, i had one for a while, just got a bigger one. I got mine like 4 or so years ago and read somewhere online when i was doing the reviews that the reason why they were so much cheaper was because they were only sold in big discount stores and never paid a dollar for advertising (i know they do now). But at that point they did not, which cut a lot of there costs. Anyhow, I think they are great quality especially for the price.

I have a 32" 720 that has provided a great picture for 3 years. It even fell from the wall bracket once....about 2 years ago....and didn't lose a single pixel. I would buy a Vizio again for sure. I don't know why some people hate on it. I guess anything that's a bargain will get hate from elitists.

I paid $699 for this one back then. I can get an equivalent now for almost half that which is awesome.

I impulse bought a 42" 1080p Vizio a couple of years ago to replace my three ton 39" crt.

Two weeks after I bought it, Vizio introduced a new model. WlMart (yeah, I bought my TV at WalMart) offered a straight up trade for the new model, or $150. I just took the credit.

I've had no problem with it, and it looks stunnign with my PS3. Regular television - not so much. BluRays and games look great, though.

I'm going to upgrade soon, but I'll keep it as a gaming screen.

Hello:

Vizio can NOT be compared to Sony, panasonic. I would more compare it with SHARP.. they're almost the same (a sharp lcd im saying not a LED), if you want this tv to work well use a dark room as the blacks arent too deep and any source of light will ruin picture quality.

I've had a Vizio 47, 1080 for a couple of years and it's been a great tv. Will not hesitate to buy another one. Costco added another year warranty to it so that was nice.

Says you. For the price they can't be beat. Visio is an American company based in California who's chosen place of manufacture is a company called AmTran - in Taiwan. Believe it or not, Taiwan is not the same as China. Actually, a lot of Taiwanese despise China. With a vengeance. Very few Taiwanese consider themselves Chinese. An important point...

Of course, NO mass-produced screens are manufactured in America.

Visio LCD screens are made by LG (unconfirmed, but a lot of evidence points in this direction) - their plasma screens are Panasonic seconds. Good screens at half the price, but older technology.

Hate as you will, Visio produces hgh quality screens at half the price of the "name brands". I will not vouch for warranty, longevity, or repair services. I've heard nothing good about them. I will not recommend the plasma screens at all.

My next television will be a Visio. I love to old one I have.

Visio offers ok reliability, stunning prices, solid features, and screens that compare to models costing twice the price.

You have an hour left on their cyber monday deals and can get that tv much cheaper directly from Vizio. http://www.vizio.com/cyber-monday-2010
