US sanctions devastating Russia's economy ruble unstable set to crash again

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/07/25/us-s...s-economy.html

The loss of oil revenues ? a drop of as much as 60 percent, according to a 2017 Congressional Research Service report ? helped spark a collapse in Russia's currency, the ruble, sending the prices of Russian consumer goods soaring.

The Russian economy has also been hurt by a wave of capital flight out of the country, as individual Russians sought to move money offshore and convert their shrinking rubles to dollars and euros to protect their wealth. That money flow slowed in 2014 as U.S. and European sanctions took hold.

Though U.S. sanctions have put pressure on the Russian economy, the impact on American business has been limited because Russia makes up less than 1 percent of U.S. exports.

Only six U.S states count Russia as a significant market for goods and services. Washington, the most reliant, sells roughly 1 percent of its total exports to Russia, consisting mostly of machinery and farm products. That's half the level before the 2014 sanctions took effect.

European nations, which export greater volumes to Russia than the U.S., imposed their own set of sanctions response to the Crimean annexation.

The US "sanctions" have nothing to do with the Russian ruble. The United States of America have about 2% of all the external trade of Russia. Do you have a brain in your head to understand that 2% is almost nothing? Yes, it is. You are just a small insect, comparing to China and others. The only thing that directly affects the ruble is the piece of oil:

I know you're a fag (shit happens) but you are not a stupid blonde bitch and you should be able to see the picture. Rubble follows the oil price like a pet. Right now the ruble ratio is 20% higher than 3 years ago, because... the oil prices. Look at the picture already.

Russian government cuts 40% of state-funded university places

The Russian government is pushing on with plans to cut 40% of state-funded places in domestic universities in 2018 and to cut teaching jobs at state universities.

These plans were first announced about a year ago. However, their implementation was postponed due to signs of the beginning of a recovery of the Russian economy from the economic crisis and the possibility of lifting of at least part of Western sanctions against Russia.

Still, the beginning of a second wave of the financial crisis ? fuelled in June by a resumption of the devaluation of the national currency, the ruble, and an awareness that sanctions against Russia would not be lifted soon ? has forced the state to return to these plans.

The cuts are the consequence of reduced funding for two programmes, known as ?Development of Education? and ?Development of Science and Technology?.

It is planned that this year up to 500 scientists will be laid off from Russian universities in early 2018. Large job cuts are planned in the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Kurchatov Institute.

Overall, up to 8,300 scientific workers will lose their jobs in Russian universities by 2020, while the share of spending on education in total budget expenditure will fall from 2.75% in 2015 to 2.45% in 2020.

In addition, the government plans to cut spending on research and development activities of Russian universities and reduce funding allocated on the development of their technical base. Finally, funding of graduate scholarships will be halved.

The cuts have already been approved by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Russia doesn't have an immigration problem -- people are not lining up in to get in notwithstanding North Koreans and a few other unsavory third world persons.

yes but still it is amusing to hear an american point fingers at others when education or healthcare is concerned...

45.000 dead/year in the USA due to lack of ability to pay healthcare racket:

New study finds 45,000 deaths annually linked to lack of health coverage | Harvard Gazette

+1 tillion sudent debt...

oh and every other civilized or uncivilized country does not have this problem only the USA...there is that tiny little point also...

Write a letter to President Trump about healthcare
And while you are at it; write Trump's Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos she has a great plan to fix the sorry state of education in America -- give all students a free red MAGA hat ....
