WH staff: Trump is ?unstable,? ?losing a step,? and ?unraveling.?

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2017...e-advisers/amp

Even Bannon thinks Trump will be removed with the 25th amendment.. Trump is done he's gone from suck to blow..

Quote:
At first it sounded like hyperbole, the escalation of a Twitter war. But now it’s clear that Bob Corker’s remarkable New York Times interview—in which the Republican senator described the White House as “adult day care” and warned Trump could start World War III—was an inflection point in the Trump presidency. It brought into the open what several people close to the president have recently told me in private: that Trump is “unstable,” “losing a step,” and “unraveling.”

The conversation among some of the president’s longtime confidantes, along with the character of some of the leaks emerging from the White House has shifted. There’s a new level of concern. NBC News published a report that Trump shocked his national security team when he called for a nearly tenfold increase in the country’s nuclear arsenal during a briefing this summer. One Trump adviser confirmed to me it was after this meeting disbanded that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called Trump a “moron.”

In recent days, I spoke with a half dozen prominent Republicans and Trump advisers, and they all describe a White House in crisis as advisers struggle to contain a president who seems to be increasingly unfocused and consumed by dark moods. Trump’s ire is being fueled by his stalled legislative agenda and, to a surprising degree, by his decision last month to back the losing candidate Luther Strange in the Alabama Republican primary. “Alabama was a huge blow to his psyche,” a person close to Trump said. “He saw the cult of personality was broken.”

According to two sources familiar with the conversation, Trump vented to his longtime security chief, Keith Schiller, “I hate everyone in the White House! There are a few exceptions, but I hate them!” (A White House official denies this.) Two senior Republican officials said Chief of Staff John Kelly is miserable in his job and is remaining out of a sense of duty to keep Trump from making some sort of disastrous decision. Today, speculation about Kelly’s future increased after Politico reported that Kelly’s deputy Kirstjen Nielsen is likely to be named Homeland Security Secretary—the theory among some Republicans is that Kelly wanted to give her a soft landing before his departure.

One former official even speculated that Kelly and Secretary of Defense James Mattis have discussed what they would do in the event Trump ordered a nuclear first strike. “Would they tackle him?” the person said. Even Trump’s most loyal backers are sowing public doubts. This morning, The Washington Post quoted longtime Trump friend Tom Barrack saying he has been “shocked” and “stunned” by Trump’s behavior.

While Kelly can’t control Trump’s tweets, he is doing his best to physically sequester the president—much to Trump’s frustration. One major G.O.P. donor told me access to Trump has been cut off, and his outside calls to the White House switchboard aren’t put through to the Oval Office. Earlier this week, I reported on Kelly’s plans to prevent Trump from mingling with guests at Mar-a-Lago later this month. And, according to two sources, Keith Schiller quit last month after Kelly told Schiller he needed permission to speak to the president and wanted written reports of their conversations.

The White House denies these accounts. “The President’s mood is good and his outlook on the agenda is very positive,” an official said.

West Wing aides have also worried about Trump’s public appearances, one Trump adviser told me. The adviser said aides were relieved when Trump canceled his appearance on the season premiere of 60 Minutes last month. “He’s lost a step. They don’t want him doing adversarial TV interviews,” the adviser explained. Instead, Trump has sat down for friendly conversations with Sean Hannity and Mike Huckabee, whose daughter is Trump’s press secretary. (The White House official says the 60 Minutes interview is being rescheduled.)

Even before Corker’s remarks, some West Wing advisers were worried that Trump’s behavior could cause the Cabinet to take extraordinary Constitutional measures to remove him from office. Several months ago, according to two sources with knowledge of the conversation, former chief strategist Steve Bannon told Trump that the risk to his presidency wasn’t impeachment, but the 25th Amendment—the provision by which a majority of the Cabinet can vote to remove the president. When Bannon mentioned the 25th Amendment, Trump said, “What’s that?” According to a source, Bannon has told people he thinks Trump has only a 30 percent chance of making it the full term.

Everyone who remotely supported the trump administration - including all of the Republicans who are not speaking out - should be removed from politics for life.

You just know how Ryan is going to handle it - He'll say something like "I never fully supported him".

The question is... If trump is removed from office, Pence takes office. However, if they remove both Pence and trump due to collusion doesn't Ryan take office? Not exactly fond of Pence or Ryan, but anything is better than trump.

Rochard it seems you and Crockett are delusional, as usual. Trump has kept most of his promises and made huge accomplishments. You're still talking about some bogus Russia collusion story that was made up by the Democrats? You've been misled by the fake media.

HERE IT IS=> Complete List of President Trump?s Major Accomplishments in His First Six Months #MAGA

You cannot be taken seriously. I began to think that by the remarks you made about 9/11 in a previous thread. This crap here just proved it to me. Though I will not put you on ignore using the ignore feature of this board you thoughts will be ignored by me.

Oh lord.

All of gains in the stock market, the DOW, etc, had NOTHING to do with Trump. Trump was handed that on the first day when he took office. Trump could have done nothing but slept and played golf and that would have happened.

But this right here is my favorite....

As of today, the US Debt has decreased under President Trump since his inauguration by (-$103) Billion. (President Obama increased the US debt in his first 6 months more than $974 Billion or nearly $1 Trillion.) The difference between Presidents Trump and Obama is more than $1 Trillion.

Trump walked into office with a 4% unemployment rate; Obama walked into office with the worst recession we've had in my lifetime. Obama reduced unemployment from a high of 10% to 4%; Obama cut unemployment by half during his time in office. Meantime, in less than eight months, Trump destroyed a trend of seventy months of unemployment - that's right, unemployment went up under Trump:

Jan: 4.8%
Feb: 4.7%
Mar: 4.5%
Apr: 4.4%
May: 4.3%
Jun: 4.4%

Trump hasn't done ANYTHING to help the economy. I mean other than giving Carrier millions of dollars to send their jobs down to Mexico.

Yeah, Trump is taking care of his promises. Just like he promised to take care of the vets. What has he done to help the Vets? Nothing? His plan to wait until the "new system" that was planned out under Obama is in place, which might take years and might not even work. In the mean time, this is what came out just today about the VA: VA must assure public that problem doctors will be exposed

He promised to clean up the VA in the first one hundred days. #winning.

Did the Trump administration even make a comment on that? What are they going to do? Pfft.

Trump hasn't accomplished anything. At all. Not one major piece of legislation in ten months in office. Not one.

Rochard, the jobs created under Obama were mostly minimum wage. That means people had to work 2 or 3 jobs, all with part-time hours and no health benefits. Those who had health insurance were lied to about keeping their plan.

Let's take a closer look at what Obama accomplished:

Obama?s Rather Impressive List of ?Accomplishments?

Also, the prez signed a bill for our veterans back in August. It takes years to fix something so big but it's a start..

Trump Signs Bill to Speed Up VA Disability Appeals Process

Clearly, the media hacks who work for the dems are trying to deceive the public. He's doing an excellent job, despite the embedded Obama appointees who are working against him. If both sides of the establishment hate him, it means he's trying to help the citizens,
not them & their corrupt schemes.

More fake news and more fact twisting:

The DJI is not the *stock market* and its broader index
The stock market DJI more than doubled during Obama's FULL term
Strawman argument -- 90% of the stock market trends are rational and fundamental.

The S&P 500 is more accurate

DJI

If you want to give credit to Trump for the stock market I will place blame on this year's hurricanes and their damages on Trump. Both statements would be equally ludicrous -- More FAKE NEWS!

I have never questioned 'IF' but 'WHEN' it was political advantage or should I say least damaging for them to oust him.

Being before or after the mid-terms.

My thinking a few months ago was that it would happen just before the mid-terms. Pence would step-in and there might be some harmony within the party. For a little while anyway.

I know I would not want to be a Senator or Congressman and have to answer questions as to if I believe in what the head of their party is saying or doing before the mid-term elections.
It's just gotta be tough trying to put a good spin on bad things constantly. And it will come with a risk to do so soon enough.

In any case, they will use the Russia investigation to do it. And with facts to keep it all on the up and up. Painting that picture with proof positive evidence trail takes time to build and for the Republicans themselves, it can't come soon enough. Privately, they all know what happened from the NSA, but we are a nation of laws and we must follow them and build a evidence chain just as any other court event. Really at this point they are trying to take those associated with the events, not just the target beneficiary.

But I think many that stayed home on the last election are unlikely to do so this go around. Perhaps we will have a record turn-out.

See how this stuff is leaking out.. They are building the case in public for removal. Making a forgone conclusion before it happens so everyone expects it.

They are making the case in the media so everyone expects it and is not suprised. Staffers saying he's unhindged and former congressmen saying the same..all this from Republicans..

I'm sorry but I disagree with everything you said.

All of the jobs he created was minimum wage jobs? Bullshit. When Obama took office a lot of people I knew had lost their jobs and their houses. I remember the day he took office; There are forty houses on my street and exactly half of them were vacant. Our economy was so bad that building projects just stopped - We had two large condominium projects in town that just stopped, leaving hundreds of empty shells standing for years. But now suddenly trump is here, and everything is fixed?

Really, did trump sign a single bill for the VA making it "quicker" to get benefits? So he did absolutely nothing to fix the VA - instead, he made the problem worse by making it "faster" to get the benefits which only creates more of a backup. This too is part of the problem - he did NOTHING to fix the problems at the VA, and you are telling me how he fixed the VA.

lol.

Yes I find that funny also, because the data behind the trade deficit right now shows less imported oil and more exported oil as the largest single reason for the change.

It was not Trump's signature on the bill that allowed oil exports once again but Obama's !
India is now buying much of the extra oil from the US, so it will continue to change as they take more of it.

The National debt went up under Obama to support the failed banks and provide loans to the auto industry which no bank could or was willing to do.
The best disaster is the one that never happened !

It's stunning. Trump is taking credit for everything when he's done nothing. It's stunning how the economy went from being horrible to great in a matter of months when nothing has changed.

Nobody ever belives me when I say that there is nothing a president can do to affect the economy short of 6-8 months.
The best representation to that was the checks that GW Bush handed out to stimulate the economy after 911.
But we had to borrow that money to do it so most of it went directly back to the folks we borrowed it from. The Chinese. because our trade deficit was so bad, it floated to retail without circulating multiple times and taxed each step of the way as it was intended to do.

The smarter move was a longer term approach and spend money on infrastructure.
But hey... who does not like cash ! It was a political move.
Under general conditions even the infrastructure program would take about 18 months to measure in the economy.

I did not blame Bush Jr on the poor economy of the early 2000's but Clinton.
If you remember the .com bubble just after he took office. And one can't blame him for 911 but I can blame him for all those tax incentives he and his congress gave to actually move off-shore with your production. Something not realized under his presidency.

Just as I blame Clinton for the repeal of Glass-Steagall act that allowed the banks to do it to us again in just 8 short years. I don't care what party they are. What's wrong is wrong.
I don't like any of them. While there are a few things I like about any of the POTUS's we have had, I particularly like GHW Bush and Obama. How's that for contrast. LOL
But that does not mean I condone everything they did.

But I just feel they keep everyone divided and arguing with ourselves so we can not effectively mount a opposition to all these bad deeds.
We all have more in common, but the division topics keep everyone from seeing that.
