Mark how do I unblock an Ipad mini?
Someone borrowed money from me and left me this stupid thing as collateral. It's been several weeks and they've vanished so I'm stuck with this Ipad mini.
Problem is that I don't have the passcode. I've done all the restore tricks that are on the Internet but I don't have the original apple ID and password. So what do I do to unblock this paperweight?

Just but the iPad in Dfu mode. Hold down the home and power button for 15 seconds connected to the iTunes. iTunes will detect an iPad in recovery mode. Restore the iPad this will delete all the content in the iPad making it like a brand new device. Once it's finished you can sign in with your apples and use iCloud etc.

Ahh, sorry then. I had a similar thing a long time ago with an iPod touch. My son handed it to me and asked if I could get it going.
TBH, I dont know that much about apple products, but I do remember that what I did involved me downloading iTunes and doing something very similar to what I posted... It DID work for me at the time, so I googled it and got the advice I pasted... Perhaps this link will be of help? https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204306#recovery |

So do I have to haul this over priced plastic crap into an Apple store and have them fix it?

You have to put "Trump" in the post title or he won't respond.
