You're right. It's so egregious that a Senator had this information for 6-7 weeks only to use it for political currency in the last minute of a confirmation hearing to block a Trump picked judge for getting into the SCOTUS.

Rather than notify the authorities of a crime, she leaked it to the press for political gain.

Then the "victim" refuses to cooperate with a standard investigation of a crime. The only "witness" says it never happened. Feinstein didn't report this "heinous crime" to the authorities. And suddenly, at the last minute, there are all these reasons to stall a super court nominee.

Gee... what sane person could question the veracity of the claims given their politicization, their timing and the fact that no police agency would ever charge someone for... which are being used by the 3rd or 4th most insane Liberal Senator as capital to stall a supreme court nominee???

Do you Americans really want to give a lifetime appointment to somebody who was just one of the guys or someone who was making the correct moral judgements all their life. IF you get hit by a car, it doesn't look good for you to come forward 35 years later pointing fingers and making unsupported claims - particularly when you didn't' feel that way when it happened.

The FBI is involved directly with any and all investigations when confirming prominent positions like these.

For the record, I think its extremely dangerous to weaponize this stuff for political gain. Especially without very convincing evidence given the time that has gone by. I have a feeling if you made Mitch McConnell a deal that went: You will lose the House and Senate in the midterms and the White House in 2020 but you get Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court, I think he would take that deal because he knows the loss of the House, Senate, and White House are likely just temporary whereas Kavanaugh can be on the bench for 30+ years.
