this is so funny, you better add some more cash to that 30 of yours. i would say around 1500 to start with. You are asking for a cartoon.

Id do the logo for $150.....
With off the shelf mocap.... using a siloutte rather than a toon/maybe $500 cinema 3d/simular proggie/after effects to bring it all together....$600. And that would be for something quite basic..... You want AWESOME... well you can TRIPLE those figures. Alternativly... try and do it yourself. And see why we are ripping you apart right now.

$30? That would even pay for the biscuits! Unless you want to go to fiverr I think you'll be waiting a while for someone who'd do the work at that price.

Hey guys, thanks for the warming posts. lol :P But seriously, I found everything I was looking for from fiverr. Thanks for the suggestion! It did take me some time to find good sellers on there but you would VERY surprised to see what they offer for $5. *thumbs up*
Just know that in this bad economy, a lot of the customers don't mind going to the cheaper source even tho the work may not be "awesome" as they have hoped (including myself). It's not like I was asking for you to build a whole freaking website for $30. Jeesh anyways thanks again for the fiverr suggestion! PS - I ended up SAVING money and I am very happy with the work! PPS - I am now looking for a membership script designer/seller so hit me up! |

Yeah I was surprised as well. That's why you gotta really look around on that website, I think you'll be amazed at what some of the sellers offer. For instance, I just needed 15-20 seconds simple video intro - few guys from here were quoting me around $60-100 and I got 4 of them for $20 off of fiverr. Same with the logo.

http://fiverr.com/rahulwadhwa/dance-...custom-message And now to the point - and I'm pretty sure you're understanding the whole thing - some people chose to be webdesigners and that's their profession, they are making a living this way. This thread might sound insulting to some of the designers who work around - and they are pretty awesome professionals. You have to understand that your post looks like the story of a guy who goes in a cowboy bar and calls the people around " Rednecks" - the same thing is here. We know it's a crisis, economical difficulties around, everywhere - but trying to bring down to the dust the work of people who would take care of the good look of your business is not good step - thank God that there are people who values the work of designers and don't justifying their cheap nature with the world crisis or the economics. Have in mind that most of us already lowered our prices too much to fit the needs of the business. More than that is to work for free. That thread just made me sad - I'm not trying to insult you or to play a bad guy I'm just tired of explaining how important is the work of the designer to client's businesses, or especially people who think that any job is quite easy and their nephew or 2 years old sons can photoshop it with success. I'm pretty sure that you can make that indian guy on the above link to make 5 bhangra dances for you on the price of one. So sad... so sad. I'm out. |

Points taken and understand what you guys are saying. And yeah quality is def. important (who said it isn't?) but for the price I paid on that site, I was HAPPY with the quality of the work they provided. Like I said, it did take me awhile to find "good sellers" but overall I was HAPPY with the outcome. The heck, some of the guys from gfy were asking for $100+ for 15-20 seconds simple video intro and true, I don't know what it takes to make that but obviously those guys on fiverr provided those that I was happy with for only $5 per piece. What's wrong with this? And really guys...does it really really cost $100+ to make that short of a video intro? Just curious. Because to me, it sounds like over-priced.
Conclusion is, I don't have mountains of money packed in my room and I will find whoever will work with my price range. It's not like I am threatening you to work for me so what is the problem here? |

About the fact you don't have mountains of money - same is with most people around. A question: What's the cheapest service of your business and don't you think it's overpriced? If you say "NO", then why? Would you offer your service at fiverr for 5 bucks? If you're living in India can you pay for high speed internet connection with 5 bucks? If you're US resident what can you with $5? I'm from Europe and you can't do much with $5. That's not even 5 euro and it's bad way to repay the hours, weeks, months or even years spent to learn something new so you can be actual and the clients to look for you. If you're in this business you probably know how important is the job of the webmasters, the developers, the sellers, the system administrators and last the guys you want to work for 30 bucks - first 15, then other 15. Once again - I'm not trying to lecture you- just pointing out how miserable is the whole situation. |

Hey, when a customer like I say $30 then it's automatically assumed that the customer is either 1) cheap 2) broke 3) or both :D yeah?
And then I email some designers asking "how much will it cost minimal" and they answer with either $100+ or $300+ do you think I will say "nice price, let's go for it!"? The answer is simple - HELL NO. Blame on some designers who like to overprice their sh*t just because they can. Screw that. Work with the customer's budget which is do-able other than wanting to charge 3x more than what the customer asked for, I mean, if the designer busts out their amazing porfolio and then tells me that they can do it for specific amount of price that I can actually WORK WITH then yeah I may be flexible. It doesn't take a smart person to know if a person is overcharging or not. Oh and don't hate me for going on fiverr. One of the guys on this specific thread pointed me to it so thanks a lot! |

Misshappy, I'm happy you found what you were looking. I hope your biz will get better soon so we can work together when the time will come - but then you will know what the designers do.

So you come back to this thread and proclaim how happy you are with your work from fiver, and when someone asks to see it...they have an attitude? We are all curious as to what you got.. is fiver worth serious concideration?

I have no problem asking you to see the work. It's just your attitude since the beginning has been "ill" (although you state that you have no ill will against me). Like I said, my website isn't up yet so I'll show you once it goes up and running. NP. And to answer your question - yes, you gotta dig up for awhile to see value but there are some few sellers who do great. I think you'll be even amazed for what they do for $5. There's no point of me lying or making stuff up. If you don't like what I write, just move along. You don't have to pick fun at someone's decisions or what they are happy about. |
