FTC Cracks Down on farticle/fake article marketing, Sues Intermark Media

FTC curtailing farticle/fake article sites -- here is all the news from Google News on the subject: http://urlf.com/Tln

basically, all of the landers that try to make products look like part of a news organization's published copy, are on the FTC radar. colon and acai are widely used as the monetization for such landers.

last year the ftc was publishing a lot of warnings about disclosure and best practices for diet marketing. a lot of companies figured out how to skate the line and remain compliant. it all depends on whether the infomercials and direct mailers have the proper disclosure and don't make false claims really.

the products they went after also were the worst for credit card raping cross-sells and rebills so there is another message there as well.

Still tons of LPs out there that havent been updated. Talk about a rude surprise for webmasters who don't stay current.
