Should I run an adult forum with Vbulletin?

I've made up my mind. Vbulletin is the way to go. People say otherwise but I'm willing to fork up the money for it, and I already have a good domain to start it with etc. I've been making Wordpress sites for a while and they are just newbie looking etc. I've generated no sales and only had luck with chump change tube sites. However, I love the forum setup of Vbulletin. I think having more people participate and add their own content to promote, it would maybe take off. I know it's I'm a mushroom in a mushroom field full of likeminded people, but, I think it's better to take it to the next step and quit RSS feeding 1 minute clips with a bounce rate of 48 seconds.

The main thing is.. I've tried Simple Machines, which should be called Spample Machines.. the other forums are ok. You get what you pay for really.

I have tons of affiliates, a decent amount of free time but I am doing it all by myself without any training... meaning I have a daytime job that has nothing to do with websites, so this is a craft I'm learning by reading until my eyes blur. And GFY has the brightest people when it comes to XXX.

So... the sum it up.. Vbulletin, content, some advertising, will they come? And will I be doing myself a disservice by letting people upload their watermarked pictures, webmaster links/banners and other links to keep them on?

I am good to go right now, minus the actual vBulletin software and license.

Well..Thanks for your time.

-_- I prefer wordpress, except that when i build a network, then is not proper make 20 x-linking www on wordpress. Why wordpress?

- is for free
- lots plugin for free
- WP forum is good for the forum, where will little content and lots of images files.
- You can build for free on 1 CMS social network, forum, reviews, blog ETC - diversification.

And many many more... ;p

Don't get me wrong, Wordpress is quality. I love it, and it is very friendly to people (such as myself) that has little-to-no experience in web design. The Wordpress community is helpful and there are plugins for everything. I just like Vbulletin. I like the forum style for some reason... Thank you for the reply.

Set up an adult forum to earn money? Hm, why do you think people will come, sign up and write in the forum. This is what a forum needs to be read by others and get ranked in google. Think it's hard, but GOOD LUCK

I would rather go with SMF or MyBB. I've bought vBulletin and it's fucking crap! I switched from SMF to vBulletin but I really regret it.

The updates are often buggy sometimes they dont work at all, the support is fucking crap and you often need to search their forum forever until you find some dude that fixed the code for them.
And even when they got some code to fix the problem they dont even use it in their updates. They're fucking cunts. Dont buy vBulletin!

If our planning on running forum then vBulletin is the way to go. It's for sure one of the best forum softwares.

There's another one you could consider, it's called IP.Board and it's from invision power (invisionpower(dot)com).

Forums might have a great potential, but depends on the forum user, and of the forum main topic or niche!
