Hollywood rules, but the real life history tells us very different things. The US air forces have lost their control of Vietnam air and the whole country was defeated. Top gun may ass :pimp

Are you an idiot? It was shown @ the state Russian TV for many times. This doesn't make this movie better than Twilight, The Hunger Games or any other low quality love-story shit for little girls.

Paul Markham 07-19-2019 08:38 AM

Hollywood ran out of ideas a long time ago. Now all we get is a continuous series of expensive sequels, comic book and useless wastes of money. They've completely lost the more mature audience pandering to children and adolescents.

Tarantino is one of the few who is worth watching these days.

You are lying again Paul.

Also, when an original movie breaks a box office record they tend to make a sequal, or turn it into a franchise, to make more money you dope. Common sense

Captain America: Civil War (2016) ...

Minions (2015) ...

Iron Man 3 (2013) ...

The Fate of the Furious (2017) ...

Incredibles 2 (2018) ...

Beauty and the Beast (2017) ...

Frozen (2013) ...

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)

Lots of number one world wide box office record breaking original movies there Paul.

Please stop lying Paul.

We know how much you hate America and American culture Paul there's no reason for you to lie to support your beliefs at least base them on facts.

It was great at the time... now today it will seem a little cheesy, and especially very, very, very GAY... But its a great movie. Fast action, really well edited, real planes, plastic model plans, no CG. Good soundtrack and GREAT sound. Watch it with the sound cranked up.

There are lots of reboots and sequels of course but some of them are good, many of them are great.

And lets face it - every Tarantino movie is worth watching. Even his old ones are great. The only QT movie I didn't like was Kill Bill Volume 2. It was boring as fuck. Deathrpoof, while it's just 99.9% girl-talk, is 10 times more interesting than KBv2.

The Vietnam air was totally dominated by Soviet MIG pilots and Soviet S-75 missiles. Nothing has changed since that times. This is not a 3D Hollywood movie but a real Russian jet-fighter, known as UFO:

Top gun my ass once again. Clowns. There is no US jet-fighter which can do a 10% of that Russians plane does. Your Phantoms were made to dominate in the air in a long distance with air2air missiles. And what? They were easily took down by Soviet MIG pilots in dog fights. The same happened to your space rocket technologies made by German Nazis. You had 6 space shuttles and two of them have killed their crews. The first cause of the rocket engine failure has happened with a Russian space rocket and it was... surprise... a first time in the US atustronautica or how do you call it when a US citizen was saved, because the Russian rockets have a life-saving system which works. Not in Hollywood movies. It really works and it has saved a life of your astronaut. That's not a movie and not a joke. It relay saved a life which your Challenger and Columbia were unable to.

It's not about being out of ideas. It is about doing what they know will make them money.

There are plenty of good, original movies out there they just get smaller releases, go right to VOD or are made for places like HBO and Netflix.

HBO is something I would call a masterpiece maker of all the times. Netflix can do good things too, but it couldn't be compared with HBO.

I very rarely like follow up movies. the exceptions are Bourne, Bond, Lord of the Rings and a few others. My problem is the acting has to be better than the special effects and today too much relies on special effects.

There are some good movies that maybe don't make a lot of money and some poor ones, IMO, that make too much. The real problem is the industry is controlled by number crunchers who would rather pour good money into repeats than risk it on something else. There will never be another Life of Brian, Holy Grail, Ghandi, Doctor Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia, How the West was won, Airplane!, Casablanca, 2001: A Space Odyssey, etc.

How many of these films would be shot today as a first off? https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/li...ods-100-818374

https://www.imdb.com/list/ls053826112/ Most recent 2013 the rest a lot earlier.

That is a great movie. Recently I watched two comedies that were both good. One is Game Night about a group of friends who get together to play games one night and shit goes terribly wrong. The other is Tag, based on a true story about a group of 5 friends who have been playing the same game of tag for 30 years.

The only movie from that list I was watching is Iron Man 3. I really don't remember what it was about. I remember the original Iron Man (Iron Man 1?) All the sequels were a bullshit. The only thing I remember about Iron Man is that Russian Ivan there was a much better person than a gayish Iron Man by himself. As about the other movies - I've never seen that junk. I like Game Of Thrones, Chernobyl etc... but they were made by Brits. All the actors there speak with a strong British accent. How come?

That's the problem with sequels, you can't remember much fromone movie because it's mixed in with all the sequels. But so much is made selling stupid little toys they keep doing it.

IMO Chernobyl was way better than GoT, simply because it was spread over a few episodes actually happened as GoT was so many series, complete fantasy and only good for the killings and naked women. The last series was a let down.

Television is now far better than movies, rarely go because of that. Catch 22 was very good and reminded me to get out the original DVD. Great film.

SBJ 07-21-2019 05:39 AM

I remember when the first one came out on VHS and I wore out the copy and a few years later it was one of the first laserdiscs I bought. I now own it on 3D Blu ray and I think I watched it once and it's not as good today as it was for me back then.

Yep, the last season of GOT was a real fuck up, but everything else was good. As about Chernobyl... there was much more realistic movie made by Discovery channel. Not so dramatic, but it was filmed as a minute-by-minute chronicle and all actors there looked like the real personnel of Chernobyl and they were speaking Russian...

But for some unknown reason the narrator speaks British (not American). A secret conspiracy of the Masons? :helpme

What do you think about the Mission Impossible franchise?

Except for MI2, Each movie seems to be better and better than the last one. And MI3 (JJ Abrams) is really hard to beat.

I saw it when I was a really young and I didn't get it. I liked Cruise and Kilmer at the time, but the movie just didn't seem like anything special to me. I don't remember much about it today, other than my general reaction, and not finding the romantic part sexy at all.

Netflix seems to be going for quantity over quality to pad their library and in time steer more towards quality. They did something similar when their streaming service started. The movies were terrible, eventually they were able to build up to licensing deals with the top companies.

I'm not saying Netflix is bad per se, but a lot of the content they put out is just not good. On the other hand, some of the Netflix titles are just excellent. Not a lot of consistency.

One thing that we need to keep in mind is there are so many options for video content right now, there are only going to be so many producers that these video companies can be buying content from. If the best directors and the best writers are already snapped up by the top-tier companies of the world, all of the other video services are going to get lower level quality.

Maybe you were not a very regular girl. I mean, you were not a mainstream one, because other girls liked it. I was watching this movie at the Soviet time because there was not a big choice of movies on VHS at all - we were watching everything. I really loved Star Wars (the original trilogy) and Rambo the First Blood. Even A Nightmare on Elm Street was cool at that time. As I said - I was a Soviet boy from a country where watching these movies was officially a crime. We were watching just everything we could get (when you do something illegal, you are cool) and yes, the Top Gun was like... girls should love it.

I didn't watch the point break or red down. I know the second movie is some circus about Soviet invasion. I don't know what the movie has shown but it any case it would looks a way different - a heavy rain of nuclear blasts and only after that the spetsnaz guys to kill the survivors - you, your parents and your kids. The real red dawn for your country would look like this (and for my country too if it let you to feel better):

No citrus and no clowns. Just the pure reality like that ^

On which one? In Korea or Vietnam? How old you were when you were drafted to these wars as a solider? Maybe we were an officer in Vietnam? A black officer who was not humiliated by white Americans? As far as I know, the people of your race had no right even to vote and they had special places in the buses, because your country is ... ok I'l try to say it... is a bit... racist. Even KKK is still legal there. Do you know it?

I'm not a communist. Maybe your slave father was an African communist, but yes, every one wants to live. So what's wrong with that? As about Bin Laden, so he hasn't committed anything against my country. The CIA agent did this:

And you personally have paid for the show from your taxes because Bin Laden was getting his money from the US budget. Di - fuckin' - rectly. Will you swallow or have something to tell me?
