Forgive me for finding fault with anyone elses product, please
(I can only aspire to one day be as successful)
but I always felt something was missing in traditional porn.
That's why I started making my own.

When I'd watch porn, I felt like I was watching sex under a microscope.

It certainly didn't look like any of my own sexual encounters. :eek7

So now that you think I'm a wierdo, :uhoh I'll explain why DareRing is different.

DareRing has no script. There is no direction. There is (almost) no editing.
Before the game begins, noone knows what is going to happen.
I know "reality" sites like to blow smoke up gullible surfers asses,
(and I applaud them for their creativity) but this is genuine.
We convince amateur girls and guys to play this game, and all I do is hit record.
Who ends up naked, who has to do what to who, is all decided by the game.
This gives our movies realistic interaction and honest emotion. :)

You hear frank and funny discussions like I'd never be able to write.
(nevermind, no porn talent would be able to deliver lines like this)
You see players picking on eachother, and struggling with decisions.
You see actual embarrassment (blushing!), excitement, and revenge.

DareRing currently has only a handful of affiliates, so all I can tell you
so far is that this site does very well on Strip Game and CFNM traffic.
Of course it falls under the 'Amateur' umbrella, and I'll also suggest
trying it on master/slave interests and bi-curious (light, occasionally).
This is based on the voluntary 'market research' provided by our forums.
Some games also feature spanking, tickling, popping baloons, glasses, etc. etc.

Watch your stats and remember it's really $/click that matters, not $/sale.

The concept of the content is good, never seen this idea before.

BUT, the site is confusing, and no one wants to pay per scene or per minute.

I'd completely ditch the idea of ordering only 1 movie at a time, its confusing to your average stupid surfer. Just do One flat rate = full access.

Also your design could be cleaned up, not every thumnail needs to take up so much room. Go with the standard reality-site layout. One big image and 6 thumbnails for each video (see http://www.coedsneedcash.com/ for a good example).

Your conversions would be much better this way, promise!

Thanks, but to clear this up we do NOT charge per-minute or "per-scene".
Each game is 1½-2½ hours and costs $3.95. Same as renting a movie at Blockbuster.
You can buy each game individually, or discounted as a package.

Think of it as "pick your own trial". :thumbsup

Our standard sale is:

• Surfer watches free preview clips of Game #X
• Surfer is happy to pay only $3.95 to see the full game
• Surfer enjoys game and is upsold $19.95 Package deal

or they just keep renting games individually and end up paying more.

We've already done a bunch of testing of different price points.
$3.95 per game, $4.95 per game, $19.95 for all, $29.95 for all, etc.
The numbers we've got now made us the most money per click. :2 cents:

Maybe we have a different definition? If you buy a 2 hour video from an adult bookstore, would that be a single "scene"? If "scene" has some specific online porn terminology that I'm not aware of, sorry. IMO 2 hours isn't a scene, it's a full length movie.

Our games/movies are broken down into 7 "scenes" (Rounds) for ease of download. I wondered if the previous poster thought it was $3.95/round. That's what I'd hoped to clear up.

This is not much different than ordering a DVD from an online store. Except you download it. I don't think DareRing is unsusual in that regard. I see plenty of pay per view sites out there. If surfers can figure it out, webmasters ought to.:tongue:

As I mentioned already, we tried a simple flat rate. We tried all kinds of stuff. But the site makes more money this way. Surfers feel like they're getting full value for a specific purchase instead of a limited trial. So they are more likely to sign up. And obviously a $3 sale is easier than a $30 sale. All these little sales add up. Then you've got more customers, more people willing to give you their credit card number, and those sales beget more sales. There is method to the madness.

I've been tweaking this site for a while now, experimenting with the gracious help of some "guinea pig" affiliates who didn't mind beta testing it, and who turned out to be very happy with the money I'm now making them. So before anyone starts with the "OMG NOOB" kneejerk reactions to something different just consider the format with an open mind and try to see the plan with a fresh pair of eyes. "Think outside the box" and other such cliches. As the site grows, I'm sure Ill continue to make changes. That's why I'm still offering the 75% 'Beta' commission. I already anticipate that this format may be less than ideal once we've built up a larger library. But for now I feel like I've got a winning formula.

It doesn't matter if your videos are ten minutes long or two hours long, your charging per scene. The difference between you and a VOD site is that a VOD site has thousands of scenes of different content. You have the same content over and over again, and only in a limited amount.

They had per scene option or a price to purchase them all. The amount of content is a little limited, but the concept is good. Anyone know of other sites like this?

The per scene thing is cool but you will be leaving money on the table if you do not give them an all they can eat that REBILLS.

I do foresee offering a recurring option as soon as we've built up our library a bit more. I want to run an honest business and create a good name from Day 1, so I won't start pounding our fans credit cards with rebills until I can gaurantee regular updates. I know having a forum on a paysite will keep me more accountable to my members.

Don't underestimate the effect "no rebills" has on them signing up in the first place though. Lots of surfers are wary of such commitments after being screwed around before. Not needing to cancel is one less reason not to sign up. Create a good product that they want to keep buying and you don't need to force it on them. :2 cents:
