I am so proud . . . his first kill.

As you may recall, during my last visit to Indiana I adopted Buddy.

http://a1der-babe.com/buddy2.jpg

As he had not weaned yet, I had to leave him in Indiana until I could get back there.

I am headed back in the next couple of hours.

Was talking to goodgirl yesterday and she informed me that as we spoke she was looking out her window at the beloved Buddy, who was eating his first(?) rabbit.

I don't know about you, but I am impressed that a dog that is less than 3 months old has already seen fit to go out and feed himself. Guess that is what happens when you come from a big family.

I know running water is a commodity for you, but here in the big city, guys take showers. Try it sometime.

It's not really that cool to let your dog go and destroy wildlife.

Jim, I am sitting next to ToyBoy in the Admiral's Lounge at LAX, and he just asked me to tell you to go and get fucked.

So, in accordance with his wishes, "go and get fucked."

Thank you.

He is the biggest of the litter. The others are around 9-10 inches tall now. He is 13.

See you soon.

Ever heard of the circle of life?
Do you have dogs and if so what do you feed them?
Commercial dog food is a far cry from the food they would eat in the wild.

You need to socialize the animal. As far as I am concerned this is the only way to help prevent accidents :2 cents:

Yes young kids who don't know better will try and pull the dogs tail and ears, however its your job to train your animal and train the kids to treat the animal well. Mistakes will always happen, but socialization is the key. Get them familiar with everything! Young kids, older kids, boys, girls, women, men, people from different ethnic backgrounds, other animals is also a big must! The more they are familiar with the less chance for an accident.

Way to not understand even basic dog psychology. I'll give you a basic lesson.

Dogs are motivated primarly by three drives. Prey, Defense and Pack.

The prey drive refers to the hunting, killing and feeding behavior that dogs have inherited from their wolf ancestry.

The defense drive has to do with fight or flight instincts, self preservation and survival.

The pack drive is a group behavior and this is the one that trainers key in on.

The pulling of ears by children could possible trigger a defense drive reaction in a dog but that's quite a different thing than chasing an animal which is clearly prey drive.

The simple act of chasing a ball is prey driven behavior. By your conclusions, playing ball with the family lab is actually training it to be a child killer.

Now you know and knowing is half the battle.
