Do you believe Glo-Bill?
With all this new Visa regulation crap going on, Glo-Bill claims that it is not being affected by any of it.
It all sounds good and makes Glo-Bill look like a "knight in shining armour" come to rescue everyone, but do you believe it? |
looks to me that glo-bill is trying to gain some market share. Good ol bait and switch... get the clients, then conveniently tell them at a later date that they need to pay the fees and incorporate in the us to retain their rebills.
|
Not for a moment. They are pulling a fast one, or they are very stupid. This will all catch up with them.
|
Yeah, I think Glo-Bill is pullin a bait and switch too. If it was possible for IBill or CCBill to get around this new policy, they probably would.
|
While we at Glo-Bill certainly appreciate everyone's opinions of our company, even negative opinions, we do like to interject when some posts come close to slander.
I can assure the ENTIRE INDUSTRY that Glo-Bill is not attempting any "bait and switch" routine as seems to be suggested here by some. Let that be recorded on the public record. I will repeat what I have already stated in a previous post: First, Glo-Bill is not, never has and never will attempt to "get around the credit card companies". I can assure everyone that everything is above board and that Glo-Bill is in fact working very closely with BOTH the credit card industry and the merchant banking industry in the jurisdiction that we are now processing from. We are in full compliance with all regulations within our jurisdiction. Second, this is way more than simply a jurisdictional issue. Glo-Bill had a small army of attorneys, banking experts and consultants working on this problem for more than three months. They have worked with us in crafting a unique and solid solution that will benefit both Glo-Bill and by extension all of Glo-Bill's clients. We cannot speak for other processors and whatever paths they have chosen to go down. But by the same token, we do hope that ALL our competitors and the industry as a whole continues to prosper. That only helps all of us. Glo-Bill has simply positioned itself with a solution it regards as the most beneficial to its clients. |
Globill emailed us about it weeks ago
|
Time will tell if Globill is really on to something. If so, will CCBill, Epoch, etc. follow suit? Either way, won't VISA just adjust their policies accordingly?
|
I really really really wanna believe Glo-Bill, but its hard to believe that CCBill, IBill, and Epoch don't know what they're doing.
OK, well maybe I would believe that Epoch doesn't know what its doing because that guy who posted here is a turd, but the other major CC processors seem to deny what Glo-Bill is saying. |
not to be an ass or anything, but does a team of lawyers, banking experts and consultants really make you immune from the multi-trillion dollar machine visa runs?
Anyone should CLEARLY recognize that high-risk processing is a pimple on visa's ass just crying to be popped. |
whatever happens out of this. its not going to be good
|
Globill kicks ass and always has. They have been the most ethical and outstanding company i've dealt with period.
As for why didn't iBill, Epoch and CCBill etc. come up with a similar solution if it was available - well, maybe they're just not as smart!:1orglaugh That's like saying, "why didn't John Rockefeller invent the automobile instead of Henry Ford? After all, he had more money didn't he?" Anyway, it's probably pointless to speculate and as Brown Bear has said in other posts "time will tell". And as I've said in another post. I'm a betting man. I bet Glo-bill. :2 cents: |
Will Glo-Bill be affected by the new regulations? A simple yes or no will do

Wow, looks like I'm switching to Glo-Bill.
I've always stuck by CCBill, but this is just too much. |
theking, here is the simple answer: "No. Glo-Bill is not affected by the new regulations."
I will repeat other points that I have mentioned previously: We will not divulge the full details on our strategies for obvious reasons. We will say that we saw the writiing on the wall many months ago and started taking proactive measures since then to protect our clients' businesses to the best of our ability. The bottom line: it is business as usual at Glo-Bill, meaning: - No set-up fees - No monthly or annual fees - No reporting of your private information to any outside entity - Websites from foreign countries welcome as always without special requirements - No Big Brother style registration forms and no scrutiny of your website by other entities - We help you maintain your chargebacks at very low levels WITHOUT blindly declining good signups - Still no free trials and proud of it! :thumbsup |
If this is the case, then I think Glo-Bill will see an enormous number of international webmasters signup with Glo-Bill to get around having a US presence.
Go Go Glo-Bill |

Thank you Brown Bear. We're on the go!
We've already seen a large number of international webmasters signing up just today. |
theking - you're welcome. Straight forward is the only type of response I give.
:winkwink: |
I think one thing that people are overlooking, is that VISA is the one who makes the rules regarding chargebacks, so their "high risk" factor is bullshit.
If they did not allow jerk-off surfers to charge back so easily, there would be a lot less problems IN GENERAL. I think there are lots of other things VISA could do to secure the system opposed to just laying it all on us. Do they think they're fucking God or what??? :BangBang: |

cherrylula,
chargebacks have been the bane of the industry and are pretty much the reason for each and every heavy-handed rule set down by the credit card industry in past years. Certainly, the central weakness in the system has been that it is too easy for a "cheap charlie" to simply claim he never made a charge. But in past years, many unscrupulous webmasters and certain billing companies that are no longer in existence, exacerbated the problem by employing all types of underhanded methods to gouge users. Some websites made it virtually impossible for users to cancel a recurring subscription. All that eventually caught up with the industry as a whole. Bottom line, the more the industry employs ethical practices, the more of a chance that we will see less heavy-handed rules in the future. :2 cents: |
Darren,
Thanks for the vote of confidence. May you continue to enlarge billions of pensises (peni?) around the globe!! :1orglaugh |
Its pretty simple... get it in writing that you will NEVER be charged for said processor fees on the basis that they blatently say, come with us and avoid the fee. =)
|
I know one thing. When the truth comes out, SOMEBODY is going to come out looking shitty.
If Globill is right and has a legitimate way to avoid this, I'll be PISSED at CCbill for not thinking of it and I'll switch processors. If CCbill is right, I'll NEVER EVER do any kind of business with Globill nor will I take stock in anything somebody from that company said. Globill will probably lose face with a lot of webmasters and they will become a miniscule alternative to the big three. |
A.Martin, your phones must be ringing off the hook. Good job. BTW, I didnt know Glo-Bill operates out of Walnut Creek. Semi-Silicon Valley right?
|
Good observation BVF. More importantly, I think at least one major processor is ALREADY looking like total shit. I'm obssessed with this one....
Chris from Eposh stated, and I quote: " So "switch" if you will, but from what I hear, you may not be welcome when you HAVE to return. " Man, that's bullshit!!! |
A.Martin, your polite, prompt, and intelligent replies have impressed me very much. I plan on becoming a Glo-Bill client tomorrow!
Thank you once again for being so great about all of this. You seem to really know what you're talking about. |

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are you denying that VISA USA might give globill a little trouble when they have to come back from off-shore? Because it seems likely to me that they won't like a biller that is banking on a loophole. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who knows. I think it is possible that maybe two or three months from now that Visa will come out with yet MORE new rules to plug up whatever loophole Globill has found. Then again, maybe not. Maybe it is not a "loophole". But either way, Globill gets points in my book for at least figuring out a better way to handle this for now. That indicates that they are on their toes more so than others. |
Ok, I am a new webmaster. I am just finishing my paperwork to submit to the state to register my business. So this directly influences me. This is what I know.
If I have to pay 750.00 just to start I will most likely have to hold off an additional six weeks to get that out of the way. I would definitely even consider longer to handle the 350.00 a year from now. IF... I have to pay 750.00 just to get processing going, I will. I think Epoch, CCBill, and iBill realize this. Everyone else who CANNOT PAY (and mind you, who really CAN'T under NO CIRCUMSTANCES) is not going to make a really good profit in the long run anyway... Mind you, this is my theory and may be disproved with time, and under no circumstances should this be taken as fact. I THINK (also, just a theory) that Epoch, iBill, and CCBill banded together on this one to promote thier own PROFIT MARGIN. Otherwise it would not have been a JOINT ANNOUNCEMENT. They needed solidarity on this issue to make it work profitably for them. What I also know... I have NEVER READ ANYTHING BAD ABOUT GloBill. I cannot say the same for the other companies. In fact, thier baseless threats of HAVING to come back, innuendos of sueing small webmasters (no offence to anyone on the board) for SLANDER in speaking thier OPINIONS is reprehensible, poor relations, and just poopy. :2 cents: |
