Hey Melissa you sound great. I will take the opposite side of the haters and say that there is a lot of music with a similar vibe being played and sold commercially. It's got a good sound if you are into that genre. To each his own.

Just a stupid opinion but personally I would choose a different name for your music career side. Not for the porn-mainstream separation but for me Melissa Midwest just doesn't grab me in terms of a hip hop or musician name/moniker...

So far his best offer is $350k for the finished album but after what he spent and then the cut KaliRecords get and what I get it doesn't leave him with much. There are also ring tones and then a tour that he would get paid on so it might be worth it but hard to say. I told him to hold out for more if they are offering that much and he is coming out of nowhere if I could generate some traffic and a little name for him that may go up quite a bit. It's like any business you never know but I always held out for the better deal and it worked for me so I am going off of that. Melissa

I am still trying to figure out who this idiot is lol! His posts are pretty funny he is one of more annoying trolls I have ever seen on GFY in my many years. I don't have a pimp but my ex did help me with my sites I won't lie the 2 of us were a pretty good team at one time and we built quite the internet business as well as several other companies. You can say what you want but we have done well and to be honest I could walk away from everything and never have to work again and be fine for the rest of my life. My wife recorded 3 new songs and they are scheduled to be on Itunes, Amazon, CDbaby and Rhapsody this week.
You sound great. Most people have dreams, but you follow through and make them reality. Stay strong and don't let the haters get to you. Do what makes you happy.

BUT...I have owned a record Label, we were in the Rap Game, then Rock.
We did sell over 500K albums with one of our Rap artist, but we practically broke even with what we spent. If a label doesn't think they the first album will go Platinum, they won't even think about signing anyone. With Itunes and free downloads. The game has changed. If he got offered 350K he should jump on it with a little percentage on the back end.

I agree with what some of these guys are saying, Do your own solo, do your own thing. I wouldn't go the Rap Route. With your fan base, I can see your fans expecting something else from you. But again, this is just my opinion.

My Wife has her own fan base as well, she did her album more POP/R&B. But then again, she did it to do it. Not to make millions from it. She has a list of goals to accomplish and this was one of the last ones.
