Yahoo might not be as big as Google, but they're bigger than me (understatement alert!) - and I will gladly accept their traffic.

I don't ever turn down any traffic, so yahoo can keep sending it :). I get much MUCH less traffic from Yahoo/Bing then Google but hey, every little bit helps.

I kinda think it's not good to have one company such as Google dominating the search engine business though...because if Google ever starts messing with adult websites bad, a lot of us will be fucked so I don't agree on a SE Monopoly

Like anything in life, Yahoo is what you make of it.

And all I do is buy the domain and put up a webpage.
I don't submit to anything like "Add Me" etc..

Working today on blogs, blogs, and more blogs. Yahoo is easy since it pulls a lot of rank by the domain name alone. I have top rank in Yahoo for some searches, but maybe 4th or 5th page on google.

Yet you can't get rank on google.

Go figure.

You get rank on a search engine that is trying to sell itself.

We use the yahoo groups to add links & banners, we get a little traffic from there :thumbsup

yup huge money and traffic to be had in yahoo groups.

For me Yahoo doesn't bring in as many hits BUT it converts better.
I think the demographics of Yahoo users has a part to play.

More than 21 search engines been very very good to me including bing and yahoo...

I like Yahoo, on some blogs I get a lot of traffic from it and little from Google.

When I type a domain in chrome, if the domain is not active Cox Cable has a Yahoo search results page that comes up telling you the domain is not valid.

If your ranking one in Yahoo then be very happy. Because it means your ranking about the same in Bing...remember yahoo draws its search results from Bing. That means your ranking 1 for your terms in two search engines that control around %30 of search engine traffic in the United States. That is big bucks there sending your way every way. So, yes its important.
But it may be about to get a whole lot better....Baidu the Chinese search engine is about to move big time into the United States Market and this is a search engine with billions of dollars behind it...and guess what, their going to be using Bing search results...that means more number 1 positions in another search engine for you....and it gets better because Bing is a part owner of facebook and all the leaks coming out of facebook indicate they will be launching their own search engine drawing on Bing results....so thats 750 million users.
Things are changing in the search engine market and right now I would would rather have top position in Bing over google. Google is losing market share in every fucking country in the world, there under all sorts of Government enqiures, people hate the fuckers and webmasters are looking for payback after Panda.
Expect big changes in search engine market share over the next 3 years.

Yes. Google sends me a lot more traffic than Yahoo does, but Yahoo traffic converts a lot better than Google traffic.

how are you a webmaster and ask stupid questions you should know the answer too.

that is funny. yahoo/bling send a microscopic amount of traffic compared to google for the same serps, and that yahoo/bing magically converts better than google is a a myth as well, just another seo apocryphal tale that is not backed up by facts.

if i am ranking in yahoo/bing and not google it is a sign i fucked something up big time, not a badge of honor.

Absolutely. A link to your site from the Yahoo directory gives search engine spiders another path to your site and improves your site's "popularity"

We get the most accurate results from yahoo and bing... google is FOS.
