The future has arrived

Check this out... The Falcon 9 landing yesterday..... Tell me that is not bad ass.

Bladewire 02-20-2017 11:34 PM

So fucking cool! Strength over time = power. Another success by Mr. Musk :thumbsup

NakedWomenTime 02-20-2017 11:34 PM

It never ceases to amaze me how clever some humans are.

RyuLion 02-20-2017 11:43 PM

Fucking awesome!!

Paul Markham 02-21-2017 12:13 AM

The only reason to bring rockets back, is to bring people in them back.

The only reason to send people into space is to make it more human. The future in space travel is for robots only.

The future in space is human/machine cyborgs (not the evil sci-fi type).

Cool, but is it really economically profitable? To me it looks like a reusable gun shell.

Putin is so behind on this technology. I bet he tried and failed to steal the technology many, many, many times! :1orglaugh

When Putin doesn't steal knowledge this is the best technology he can do, cutting edge technology for Putin but in America is technology of a 20 year old toy:

The distance from where this is shot is quite suspicious ...

Barry-xlovecam 02-21-2017 05:52 AM

Impressive.
But there will be space docks in orbit.
That rocket might evolve into a shuttle vehicle to the space docks.

In America you still can't send a human to the outer space. Even Curiosity was sent to Mars by Russian rocket engines.

I couldn't agree more. I am a huge fan of the Apollo program that got man to the moon, and I look at the technology and it's stunning that we made it. We went through a huge gain in technology in the past twenty years and it's just amazing - I typing this out on a small tablet with a wireless keyboard and mouse - and the next twenty years will only get much, much better.

It's entirely possible that our grand children will be taking vacations in space.

poncabare 02-21-2017 09:41 AM

that was impressive

romeo22 02-21-2017 09:51 AM

never seen this before

Wow so freaking cool. Congrats to Space X and Elon Musk!

Hey Rochard, in case you have never been, you should treat yourself to a day at Nasa in Florida. What you really want to see, is the 4-hour extended tour of the original launch sites, bunkers, and especially computers.

It's completely fascinating. It's not expensive, and there are maybe only 10 people on the tour. You get to touch the computers and flip switches and ask all the questions you want. Being there in the actual rooms where all this shit was going down, is incredible. You'd love it.

And from a business point...just think that the internet is still in it's first stages - it's really only 20 years old (yes I know...ARPA etc...fuck that) ... what will it look like 10 years from now...and more important...are we poised to take advantage of it from our marketers viewpoint? :pimp

Funny how when SpaceX blows up and fails Putin propaganda says it's real. When SpaceX succeeds, it "might be fake" Putin disinformation

Go!

I would say take your wife and kids, but its a slow moving tour so they probably would not appreciate it as much. I went by myself. (Yeah, Nerd, fuckit). One of the computers had what I will call "sleeves" that were about 2 feet long, thin, and attached by thumb screws. I asked if I could open one just to look inside and to my complete surprise he said "sure, why not, don't break it". So I did, and inside, all of the components were WIRE-WRAPPED. Not soldered, just wire-wrapped. I couldn't believe it.
