call me stupid but i dont understand how someone can spend $35k on wine.. or even food.. you open the bottle, it goes down, done, was it worth it?

id rather take that money and go buy a new toy..

I presented my former boss with my minibar bill a couple of years ago, about $2,000 - if I didn't know that he was fukcing his secretary, I would have been fired, I am sure.... But then again - I am sure that my "little" minibar bill was small compared with the whole meeting/dinner....

That is the thing, it's all relative. If you looked up the net worth of the person who spent that money, you would realize it would be like you or I going out and spending $100 on dinner.
Where as, for someone broke as a joke, they would see the $100 spend on one dinner and think 'I could eat on that for more than a month!'.

According to the article on top of that $7K gratutity he also left $5K for the waiter. That easily made the year for that lucky waiter!

The article says he tossed in another 5k on top of that tip. 12k+ tip total. That made someones day.
