Imagine that someday we will all have a Mr Fusion powering our electric cars.

The solar panels are meant to agument charging. The char is charged via the the grid AND solar panels. The article says it can get up to about 40 miles a day on solar alone. Depending how how far you drive it and where you drive it, you may not ever have to charge your car.

Maybe not Mr. Coffee sized fusion reactors for cars, but we should see fusion energy coming to some electrical gids in the next 10-15 years thanks to the recent breakthrough in Fusion technology. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/science...f-clean-energy
