I'm a Shia LaBeouf fan.

There, I said it. I am a fan of the actor Shia LaBeouf. He's one of the most underrated method actors of our time. I put him in the same category as Jared Leto as best method actors in Hollywood.

i bet you're glad you got that off your chest.

I read somewhere that he used to pretend to be his own agent when he was a kid/teenager. :) I like to see him on a screen, he's definitely one of the best actors.

Rob 10-20-2015 10:13 AM

The best method actors are the ones we all think are batshit crazy in real life. They become their characters, and this causes a lot of problems.

MaDalton 10-20-2015 10:19 AM

when it comes to batshit crazy he is definitely the best currently - he makes Gary Busey look like an amateur

EddyTheDog 10-20-2015 10:22 AM

I would probably like him if his name wasn't Shia LaBeouf...

Mediamix 10-20-2015 10:24 AM

People admit this in public? This world is going crazy.

Evil Chris 10-20-2015 10:25 AM

As far as method actors, there are many many very good ones. Shia LaBeouf doesn't immediately come to mind for me, but I'd agree he's a good actor.

Names that spring to mind: Joaquin Phoenix, Robert DeNiro, Jack Nicholson, Daniel Day Lewis.

James - Mr. Skin 10-20-2015 10:38 AM

Shia LaBeouf just for you! :thumbsup

poor Leo he will probably name his son OSCAR just to make sure he'll get one and in the delivery room he'll be asking the doctor to say it like this: AND THE OSCAR GOES TO

Method acting was invented basically to make it appear that 'pretending to be someone else' can actually be a deep and intellectual endeavour :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I don't think there's too many documented cases of Joker overdose deaths. He did a great job as the Joker, I'll give him that, but it was played up because of his death. But he was always a B-rate actor as far as I'm concerned. Hollywood used his death to boost the Joker character, and promote The Dark Knight - and it worked. But other than that, name one memorable role he's ever played. The gay dude on Broke Back Mountain? That just made it big because Hollywood's fascination with straight dudes playing gay characters. A Knights Tale? Mel Gibson's son in The Patriot? The heartthrob in 10 Things I Hate About You?

I place Heath in the same group as Paul Walker. They were made bigger by the movies Hollywood was trying to market at the time of their death, than what they actually put on the screen while alive. Other than the Furious movies (which IMHO sucked balls), what else has Paul Walker done?

The art is worth more after the artist dies. :2 cents:

Dustin Hoffman - great method acting in RainMan.

And Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump.

Yeah but rivaled by Edward Norton in "The Score"

Awesome heist movie if you never saw it - featuring Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro

Perhaps the stories of his overdose being related to the film were exaggerated, but, I do still feel it was an iconic role and one of the best bad guys ever. It's a shame... he was supposed to be in the third one as well :(
