Facebook "like" button

I see two strategies:

Some people point the facebook "like" button to the page on which it is on.
For example the individual blog posts etc.
Others put the same "like" button on all their pages, but point it to their home page.

Which one is better for traffic and seo?

I would guess that the first one. Because SEs will then index your subpage, which is linked to the main page anyway.

Better to build links to your inner pages to get them ranking higher in the SERPs. It also helps to spread the PR around internally to your site.
