NATO Could Start World War 3, TRUMP Warns

(ANTIWAR.COM) — In a Tuesday night interview, President Trump once again stirred up fury among NATO nations, this time by questioning the wisdom of the alliance’s collective defense terms. He warned this was potentially risky because any small NATO member could quickly escalate the entire alliance into a world war.

Trump provided NATO’s newest member, tiny Montenegro, as an example. A nation of just 630,000 people, Trump warned “they may get aggressive and congratulations, you are in World War III.” Trump added that this was “very unfair.”

This is of course true, and not just of Montenegro, but literally any of NATO’s member nations. While Trump’s terming of Montenegrins as “very aggressive people”didn’t sit well with many, the potential for one smaller NATO member nation to provoke a war is not some new concern, but a frequent criticism of the NATO model for decades.

NATO officials were quick to criticize Trump, saying that NATO’s Article 5 provision for collective defense is “unconditional and iron-clad.” This only adds to concerns among NATO nations that Trump’s commitment to the alliance is by their standards imperfect.

NATO officials were already unhappy with Trump going into last week’s summit, and more so coming out of it. The latest comments are a reminder that the threat of World War 3 remains a serious concern for the US president, and one not easily dispelled.

Montenegrin officials were quick to fire back that they don’t intend to start any wars. Again, this misses the serious concerns of the alliance’s obligations, as NATO has no shortage of members liable to pick fights and then come running to the alliance for “defense.”

It’s not even just the current members of NATO. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has voted to express its support for “all” nations to join NATO if they want to. This means effectively any nation in the world with an axe to grind might join NATO with an eye toward using the alliance as its backup.

Trump is right in recognizing the dangers of NATO collective defense, something previous presidents have been loathe to publicly discuss. Yet in doing so he’s once again riled up angered foreign officials who didn’t like him in the first place.

Very Unfair ! :warning:thumbsup

NATO could start a war with Russia. Completely by accident. However, fifty years in and so far so good.

However, we have a President who says the direct opposite of what he wanted to say. Or maybe. And he lies a lot.

If anyone is going to start a war.... It's Trump.

Funny how he used Montenegro as an example. Putin has a problem with them, so I guess Chump has a problem with them too! Fucking Russian loving president Chump is more concerned with Russian interests!

In 2016, prosecutors in Montenegro claimed that a pair of Russians — believed by some to be linked to Russian intelligence — had orchestrated a murky coup plot and planned to carry out an “undetermined number of criminal acts of terrorism and the murder of highest-ranking representatives of Montenegro.

Putin has a problem with Montenegro joining NATO, so his bottom bitch Chump also has a problem with them!

Article 5 was invoked for the 1st time following 911 to help us. We have no problem with other countries sending their young to die along with ours!

Montenegro is a perfect geographically placed country for a potential base to cover the entire presence over the whole Balkan Countries (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania, Greece etc.). It is P-E-R-F-E-C-T !

And this is exactly why it was separated from Serbia, with a help of Albanian Muslims coming from Kosovo to vote for "independence" while getting official documents (passports) in Montenegro to support their president.

Referendum about separation barely succeeded because there was 0,6% people more than the minimum threshold of 55%. Muslim Albanians (majority imported from Kosovo for that purpose) basically decided about the future of this "country".

What NATO is not mentioning is that Montenegrian president is the perfect example of a dictator. Somehow no one has a problem with a guy that is literally a kingpin of mafia there. He is on the head of state since 1991....yes, 1991, just rotating roles and titles. This is 27 years on power!

All good, he is safe as long as serving NATO interests and the main one was done long ago, separation from Serbia and now establishing a NATO base there. This was a huge success knowing how much Russian money was invested in properties there and because of a historically strong pro-Russian sentiment in Montenegro.

While we speak roads from that shithole are built toward rest of Europe, going through Serbia ( that is financing parts on their own because puppet regime there has to do it). This is basically a development of infrastructure for NATO that is completing presence in the region (Albania, Montenegro, and Serbia is the only one left as non NATO country) and connecting ports.

When looking a bigger picture, Russians fucked up seriously here and lost a strategic battle. Russians are literally pushed out like monkeys and they didn't do shit about it and they lost stable presence in Adriatic.

It took many years to do it and a lot of staging and many secret operations to be done but was eventually done without a shot fired. Corruption, crime, political games, blackmails, propaganda...literally all ingredients for a good book about spies and geopolitics.

Oh yes, news about coup d'etat was a joke and part of the game, used to justify and additionally increase anti-Russian sentiment that is continuously developed and boosted with the propaganda, in the process described above.

You forgot to add on the end of the article.

When the 71 year old billionaire trust fund kid president of America was asked what NATO stood for he promptly replied " North American Trump Organization", an aide quickly corrected Mr Trump.

What's wrong with that, my dear Ukrainian homo? Your president had really said so. It may sound crazy, but America may be literally wiped out from the world map because of some idiot in some small 3rd-world country which didn't even pay a singe cent to be a member of NATO. Think about it.

I know Tump is not a very smart person, but he can count the money.
