Anyone planning on taking bitcoin payments?

I was wondering if anyone here was planning on taking bitcoin payments?

I was thinking off setting it up on a few sites.

What about you guys?

faxxaff 11-30-2014 07:39 AM

Definitely, going to use it for b2b payments along with Paxum. Of course it's risky.

k0nr4d 11-30-2014 07:57 AM

Don't waste your time. It's been proven time and time again here that no one will ever buy anything with btc on an adult site. The only value of it is the fact you can do a press release on a bitcoin forum...

seeandsee 11-30-2014 08:01 AM

setup and see yourself, low consuption

DAMNMAN 11-30-2014 09:24 AM

I take bitcoin for whatever reason. BTC will rule soon.

If a PR reason, is still a good enough reason imho, especially how it's been made so easy with verotel, bitpay, etc :thumbsup

Why do you say that?

I know bitcoin is a bit technical now, but once its super easy for general people to use it, why would you not use it?

buyadultblogposts 12-01-2014 07:20 AM

Transactions for 1 cent each, money transfered instantly, money stored on your pc or usb disk drive, so no more funds in motion :)

CPA-Rush 12-01-2014 07:59 AM

bitcoins are great

It had nearly paid back the small fee you billed me to implement it :)
Now that I have those bitcoins what I do with it? Don't need drugs at the moment...

CaptainHowdy 12-01-2014 08:11 AM

Nope . . .

There are so, so many reasons...

to start:
- BTC is price is very volatile. Tomorrow 1 BTC might be $200 or $400.
- It's too hard to buy for joe surfer. If someone is smart enough to acquire and use BTC, then they are smart enough to be able to find free porn.
- It's not instant transaction, you have to wait - dick in hand - for the confirmations.
- The PR is useless, because your release is going out to bitcoin fans so you won't gain diddly shit for sales
- We did it for tubecamgirl as he mentioned in this thread and he recovered the cost of our implementation of it just now apparently - and we did this like 2-3 months ago. I don't remember how much we charged for this but it wasn't much

It's bad for you for the same reasons. Your $30 in BTC might be worth $15 tomorrow, and you can't rebill automatically. And if someone actually DOES use it it's gonna be some hacker that buys some BTC (anonymously), signs up to your site (anonymously), leeches all your content and puts it on torrents (anonymously).

+1 He's right
I love digital currency and expect it to become a huge force. Just not an match for adult now

Fat Panda 12-01-2014 10:15 AM

btc is a fucking scam

buyadultblogposts 12-05-2014 05:55 PM

Some good points k0nr4d.. and yes you are right.

Although i think its a smart system, and any power we can take away from the banksters is great :)

cainedognj 12-05-2014 06:42 PM

D e f i n e t l y ! ! ! !

AlexFS 12-06-2014 03:21 AM

Absolutely. It's a wise choice. Start accepting them.

AmeliaG 12-06-2014 03:59 AM

It is not replacing credit cards any time soon, but I'm glad we accept Bitcoin.

buyadultblogposts 12-14-2014 04:54 AM

Yea its new but i think its pretty interesting, once more people use it and the kinks are worked out it could solve alot of problems with current processing :)

People are too tech savvy to download porn if they are savvy enough to buy bitcoin.

:2 cents:

TrafficRush 12-14-2014 11:45 AM

I accept btc and exchange for paxum ;) FundsMoving.com: Fast money exchanger - all ecurrencies

buyadultblogposts 12-14-2014 10:28 PM

TrafficRush.. if you called your website fundsinmotion.com i think your sales would go through the roof :)

The Ghost 12-14-2014 11:17 PM

We accept them and they make sales. Affiliates get full credit for those sales too.

The Ghost 12-14-2014 11:19 PM

I'd go further to say niche content probably benefit most from adding bitcoin options. Anonymity for the customers kinks.

I've been thinking about it as an alternative - once I do something with my adult site lol I have been reading about bitcoin a lot lately

marcop 12-15-2014 08:30 PM

Bitcoin is, apparently, the worst investment of 2014... read all about it, from Quartz.com: Bitcoin is the worst investment of 2014 – Quartz

What a stupid article.

Bitcoin can be bought and sold every single day as a good investment or bad, depending on how low/high you buy, and how low/high you sell.

As investment opportunity everyday and all day to make it good investment or bad

As for bitcoin itself, it isn't going anywhere, all the major companies are already integrating it. Newest was this Microsoft thingy :thumbsup

I had never done any reading about Bitcoin, and have just done a little research. The US Treasury has called it a "a decentralized virtual currency" (per Wikipedia). I presume that's an accurate description, so if it's a currency, how is it an investment vehicle? And if it's an investment vehicle, how can it be a currency? Or is it essentially--vis-a-vis the US dollar--a foreign currency that fluctuates freely, just as yen or pounds or Euros do?

Yes :thumbsup

I think the main reason it's talked about as an investment so much is because it's still very very new.

John_Galbani 12-15-2014 09:40 PM

They will crush soon. I don't trust bitcoints idea.

This is not quite right.

Because each node tracks pending transactions, forming a network consensus, it is possible to conclude with a high level of confidence that a given transaction is valid, and will be incorporated into a future block, only 10 to 15 seconds after the sender initiates it.

I can understand buying and holding Bitcoin as an investment, or trading them like Forex traders do, presuming there's a marketplace where you can do that. But I still don't get why you'd want to accept funds that can fluctuate a lot as payment for goods or services--why accept that risk when you're merely selling something? Why not just use USD or Euros?

That is one of the main problems with bitcoin, the price fluctuations.

Although as its a new system its bound to happen, most people feel the price will stabalize in the future.

Sounds like your post fell through a wormhole from 2012. :winkwink: Seriously though, what are you building?

I still have a stack of GPUs sitting behind me that I need to resell.

Socks 12-17-2014 06:36 PM

We launched https://www.humpthebundle.com today and our FIRST SALE ever was a $12 Bitcoin sale using a Nexus 7 tablet.

Times done changed!

Sounds good, you can donate them to me and ill advertise your company on my blog as i have with other people who have donated hardware.

Its possible to make some decent money if you have good machines, GPU's wont really cut it you need ASIC machines, but the GPU's would be good for script mining litecoins :)

Mostly i am just building it for fun, it will make a few bucks tho.
