How to Double Your Conversions With Or Without Tubes
I'm Michael C, webmaster of sextube.com.
We work with a lot of paysites and learn a lot working with them. There are often not enough opportunities to share tips and advice with our partners. Let's start with something basic: make everything clickable. Here's a rough example of a tour page. Assume none of the images are linked with an anchor. The only thing clickable is the join button: http://animeiku.com/temp/heatmap-off.jpg Remember, only the join button has an anchor meaning that's the only thing that changes the mouse cursor when you hover over it. Yet if you were to heatmap, it would look something like this: http://animeiku.com/temp/heatmap-on.jpg That's a lot of clicks that could be going to your join page, or somewhere else for "stickiness". The lesson here is to make those images, in fact, ANY images on the page, go somewhere. This becomes even more important as people shift to touch input such as tablets. It's going to happen. Star Trek predicted it. :) This tip may seem obvious to some, but I often see websites designed by graphic designers and not by marketers. There are plenty of other small, simple changes that can help you double, triple or quadruple your conversions and increase the effectiveness of your campaigns. This is not a tube-specific tip, but there are plenty of them. Since the start of my tenure, sextube has doubled in traffic, WITHOUT pirated or licensed content. Our mobile division is growing at a massive clip, with half a page, to a page, in views added to each visitor, just last week, with simple changes. As some of you have heard, sextube.com was recently acquired by manwin. I have not decided what I'd like to do next, but I want to do something I've been meaning to for a long time: provide more feedback to our partners. I've always been surprised by the lack of contact I receive from paysite operators, even those who use us, and other tubes, quite extensively for promotion. We have a lot of stats and experience with their campaigns we can pour over and share with them such as which videos get the best responses, which banners perform, how many people are checking them out on mobile, and more. We're not pornhub big, but we have a tremendous amount of traffic. I think because of our smaller size, and flexibility to work more closely with partners, sextube.com can be a great platform for you to test and try out ideas. Want to schedule your clips? We got that. Want to try out different custom thumbnails? We have that. Want to switch out some banners in the various spots? Just let me know. We've had paysites go from 1 sale/day to 4 sales based on suggestions and experimentation. My background is also in porn production, video editing and graphic design so there is a lot of experience at your disposal. Give sextube.com a try. good tip movieguy, i think the majority of paysites don't do this.

Simple and effective.

Hey Michael C,
Do you guys accept videos with url water marking? Thanks |
Michael is a really easy going guy and more than willing to help.
Love the site guys. |
You are a very smart guy, Michael, and I love what you've been doing with sextube. Plus, the new(ish) look for the site is great!

Basically, don't go overboard. I know some tubes deny anything that has a watermark or isn't directly from the paysite, excluding even amateurs who just want to market their adult blog or services. I don't think that is fair. But if you upload 10 affiliate-watermarked Ivana Fukalot/other russian girl clips everyday, you're going to get banned. We've received watermarked videos from rappers (whose music videos are often too adult for youtube), and from escort sites. that's totally cool. |

I want to make it clear this tip is not saying you should start focusing on heatmaps. People use it to measure all aspects of their blogs/pages/tours, etc. It's not necessary. analytics will tell you most of what you need to know. Here is exactly what you should use heatmaps for: if you got a page of anchors all linking to the same thing, a heatmap can tell you which thumbs/links are resonating with your visitors. You'll learn which type of images/test you should be displaying more of. But that's all. Have a look, and then move on. There are far more important tweaks you can make :) |

As always, don't flood. paysite, partner, or not. doesn't help unless your content is fucking amazing :) |

great tip :thumbsup

That's a good tip! A couple of weeks ago I contacted a sponsor about this same thing going on in their .FLV galleries. Only a couple of "join here" links and bunch of thumbs and graphics with no links at all.
Thay have good stuff but I don't push them much because of that. |

1. I made ALL my images clickable and now go directly to the Join page (before, an image was clickable but you would get sent to a 1024x768 image). Sales increased 30% overall. :)) 2. "Don't flood". I have 28 paysites (and growing). Only about a dozen are on SexTube (at the moment). So how many videos should a program upload, per day, per site? We don't want to overwhelm or flood you, either, and I've noticed (not on SexTube but on other tubes) that my videos are indeed 'backing up', and many do not get posted at all! So what is a good number of videos to post, per day, per site? :)) Thanks Michael! Great tips!! |
who clicked on the dick?
|
Michael is great to work with.
You can look forward to a ton more uploads to sextube sir! Adding more programs as we go. |
