Donations - could this work?
Say you start a niche site with exclusive content and allow your surfers 100% free access to your content. Then you tell the surfers that it costs $XXX to produce a scene (this would include the cost of the actual production as well as your pay.) You put a "donate" button on the top of your page and immediately below it show how much has been donated already. Once the donation amount equals $XXX you release another scene and the cycle repeats.
Do you think this idea has potential? I think one big problem would be that once there's a lot content the surfer won't see a point in donating since they've got enough to jerk off to already. One way to fix that would be to give surfers reward points every time they donate. Said points could be used to buy customized scenes, model signed pictures, panties or toys that were used in specific scenes, etc... Not sure about the best way to include affiliates using this method. Thoughts on this? :) |
give it a try :)

Now.. no I dont think that it will. A few years ago it might have.

I think it could work. Not for generic porn, but for niche stuff it could.

Don't think it will work. Better idea is to let the surfer choose from a very wide range of join options. |

I saw an advertisement on Wikipedia with the Wikipedia owner asking for donations. It could work for your site, if your surfers like it enough.

did you get this idea from the naught4nature guys?
you could let it be known that you have ad's on your site and those ad's help keep the site up and if you have a loyal following they will help im s ure |
was done back in 94.

Honestly, I'd say it'd be a total flop. Maybe do something like, solicit donations / fees, and in exchange, your users get to choose the type of content / scene that gets produced. Gather a list of suggestions, put them together in a vote, and charge $9.95 to vote. Hype it all up, and once finished, shoot the scene, announce the winner, and publish!

I'm not sure it'd be very successful, but if you had 4-12 loyal members in a micro niche who really loved your content, they could support it alone. If you're going through with this, definitely make sure you let them craft some of the scenes or at least listen to their input. They probably know your niche better than you.
