XBIZ NEWS: Reality Kings Apparently Settles With Recording Industry

Reality Kings apparently has settled with the 26 recording company plaintiffs that sued the porn company over allegedly poaching music from some of the top recording artists and using it in 193 adult videos.

good stuff...in lawsuits the only people who win are the lawyers

My guess is they paid a hefty settlement.

One thing I have to give props to RK on is that any lawsuits they have had seem to go quickly, not a ton of PR, and quietly go on their way.

This part is interesting though:
"Reality Kings' parent company, RK Netmedia, has sued its insurers over the claim by the 26 record companies, saying that they have not provided any assistance in their legal battle. Those suits continue in two federal courts."

Will be interesting to see how that pans out.

That's what the Recording Industry should do, go after the big fish and stop going after the little guy who download their shit. Only big fish have money to pay. Same thing goes for porn, goes after the tube not the downloader.

RK is a fabulous reality porn network and one of the few programs still converting well for me

Why would they use unlicensed music in anything? That's fucked up.

Why steal music when there are hundreds of small bands that would love to have there music used in a real porn movie.

It's crazy that any other company would use unlicensed popular music in their videos without permission. There are so many unsigned talented musicians and bands in every genre who would sell licenses in perpetuity or outright buyouts for songs for peanuts. I know, I have gotten friends and acquaintances to create theme songs or instrumental jams for many of my adult movies over the years.
