WordPress Multisites or Single Installs?

What is better for you?
WP MultiSites + Mapping Plugin or Individual Installs of WP??

I need to setup over 500 blogs! All them in separate tlds. Im trying to do the best and uploading, installing and setting up +500 blogs is a big thing!

Wait for comments :helpme:helpme

This is just me (and I mainly did it this way because I built my blogs over time) but I have my blogs setup individually, I use the cPanel install tool to make it faster then just add a standard set of plugins.

I then use Windows Live Writer to manage all my blogs from one place. There are quite a few Desktop Blog Managers about though. It does make it a hell of a lot easier then loging in to each one for updates.

I am sure there are better ways then this, but this is just what I do.

Edit: This also allows me to use different hosts and IPs etc. I am not sure if the Mapping Plugin would do that.

I tried to set up WP multisites yesterday, but I think there's an issue with my host.

But +1 for the cPanel install tool. I use one called Fantasico De Lux https://youtube.com/watch?v=DdYKv...eature=related

It makes it ease to upgrade too, because it backs everything up.

you can setup domain mapping on multisite, so you can use any domain instead of sub domains or subdirs.

or you could set them up using scripts, and manage them either with cpanel or a tool that will let you manage from 1 area.

If they're on the same server, why don't you upload, install, and set it up once, then use a script to copy it to the other domains in seconds?

Thanks for the comments people! I actually install all my blogs in separate installs, I use a few scripts to get files uploaded faster, but I need to code a new script to copy settings and then adapt to each blog.
I was thinking on install a WP MU + Mapping Plugin per ip. I usually setup about 10-12 blog per ip, on dif hosts.
Anyway... +1 for the individual installs, the WPMU+Mapping looks good, but Im not 100% convinced to used it!

Thanks for the comments again!
