Bang & Olufsen Owners around?

I have a Bang & Olufsen Beo4 with the Beosystem 1. I just had a weird issue come up where the damn TV won't turn on. The TV is wall mounted and nowhere in the manual does it mention buttons on the actual TV to use in case of remote failure.

I have changed the batteries, etc...Nothing seems to turn this thing on, and I won't be able to get a tech over until after the holiday. Does anybody here have experience with B&O TVs? If so, any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks! :helpme

P.S. I have checked Google, and the same question has been asked a few times, but answers are never given.

Note to self - Don't buy a Bang & Olufsen system.

They act as if their tech holds nuclear secrets, so don't hope in getting that shit fixed. Hardly any info about them out there, and almost everything they do is pass protected or whatnot. I'd think they have 24/7 support in that case, considering the price tag, and security they put into their tech.

Really, just get a sony next time :P

Isn't B & O just Phillips now?

I attempted to call the local store and guess what. Out of service. Still no power to the TV and I am thinking I am SOL until next Monday at the earliest. :disgust

It just boggles my mind that there is no power button on the actual unit. Poor planning on their end.

B&O concluded a strategic alliance with Philip NV in which Philips injected some equity capital into B&O. Philips paid a 35% premium over market price for B&O because it expected to achieve some synergies for both parties.

Not the same parts bin.

Its all actually pretty well planned. They're pretty high end in everything, so whatever you see, is done on purpose and for their security.
Boggles my mind they don't have a 24/7 tech service around however, since you can't get that shit fixed as easy as "normal" tv's.

You're right. I'm just a bit upset with their support. The store that was once in Las Vegas has vanished, and like you said: 24 hour support is non-existent.

Here's to hoping for an email response and some tech assistance before the Sunday football games! :1orglaugh

Try posting on the AVS forums. One of the best Stereo-TV forums online and heavily trafficked:
